I'm also curious. The tires are so wide it's hard to get some oversteer during the summer. Winter is quite a riot in an M truck.

I'm Sutphin tcu, and about to be dudmd stage 2 (which dyno's comparably to JR 2.8 I believe). That's a lot of force going through just the rear diff, to move 5000 lbs...
not too worried about this. worse case I will buy a used diff from a part out and I'll be good to go!

My thoughts exactly. Having my M be RWD on dry days just sounds so awesome.

Case in point right here:

Came across this dude in a Google search and he didn't mention how he went RWD so with another quick search I found xDelete. He's also got some other videos up on his Instagram of some nasty burnouts - I won't be doing that however because these rear tires are damn expensive lol

Now that is awesome! I would love to do a burnout in the X5 it should be able to with a stage 2.9 tune but I'm afraid the diff will give

I've been running stage 2 & xHP DWR custom map for a while now and gave this a go recently. Yanchii, I agree - love it!

making a comeback on this post, I noticed that now the xhpflashtool website shows support for the 8hp on the E70. I guess just a flash is a start, and maybe they'll finally find a way to actually get Xdelete to work too.

I sent them a message asking them if what I saw on the webpage was correct, if they say yes, i'll buy it and come back to give my opinion on this. hopefully its true.

I have been running it on my X5D for a couple months now. I also run it on one of my E61s. Nice tuning feature and I love the adjustability, it only takes about 90 seconds to flash between AWD and RWD.

Their website doesn't allow me to choose the 4.4 in my 2012 x5. Bummer. Any idea if this tool will become available for the V8 and when the XDelete could follow?

Thanks, the E70 is coming along. That E39 makes a nice noise and will be a very engaging experience after I manual swap it. The closest thing I have to a beast is my white E61, 550whp twin turbo inline 6 with M5 everything.

I started a new job and haven't had the time to mess with the X5, but they did email back saying they're working on cracking the 8HP tranny, so I decided also to just wait and do everything all together.

im also speaking to a few tech friends about possibly removing all of the front drive components (front driveshaft, diff, axles) once the xDelete actually happens. i believe our convo was left off at trying to figure out if there are parts to plug the hole that would be left by the missing front driveshaft. solution might just be a good flex-seal plug.

Installed xDelete last Friday and it definitely gives the car a different feel! Just to compare, I tried "sport" mode today and the wheel felt heavier again lol. I think for the time being I will keep xDrive OFF =) .

Can't wait to get a trans tune
