interior trim pieces cracking?

so recently purchased an x5m...
overall interior is in good shape but some of the piano black interior trim pieces have cracks, dings in them. Looking at options on how to fix this.

1. tried to look for a some on ebay but dont see individual pieces being sold
2. i am thinking gloss black vinyl wrap on the pieces that are cracked - has anyone tried this and found a wrap that will match existing piano black trim?

any other suggestions?

I would recommend finding a junk yard and pulling pieces off if you cant find any online. I am pretty sure most E70 Non-M parts would fit this so that might help you widen your search.

I looked at ebay already.. while they do sell wood and vinyl wrapped trim, i have not seen any piano black pieces. Since this was a premium option package i doubt it shows up often and junk yards is lost cause around here.. x5 that new dont show up there.

has anyone tried using vinyl wrap to get this look?

My piano black are cracking as well, I think it is just an issue with that finish.
Have not looked at wraps to fix it, I originally wanted the c/f trim, but once I saw it in person I am happy with the black. If I found a glossy c/f look I might try that for giggles.

I wrapped my wood trim with this gloss carbon fiber film. I’m happy with how it looks, took a while to install though.

That looks really good. any pointers to removing the center console trim?

I've used vinyl on my motorcycle before with good results. After further research in my case it seems a bit more complicated as i need to actually fill in the cracks and sand it down before putting vinyl on.. otherwise crack creases will show through.

Thanks. I followed the TIS instructions, but did not remove the entire center storage unit. Only took off the top cover above the rear HVAC controls to access the screws, you can wiggle the pieces out without taking out the whole center storage unit. I did however end up breaking off a fastening point for the knee pads, there are 3 with one of the screws so close to the center stack it is nearly impossible
to remove. Still very sturdy with 2 screws. Also watch a video on how to re-install the trim around the cupholders, wasted 20 minutes before I googled how to do it easily!

One comment, if those pieces cracked from leaning on them or pressure such as that, you will want to be careful even if you do fill/sand them before the wrap, as they could crack again and/or one edge could sit higher and that will def show through.
Safest route might be to just put some glue or other epoxy on the inside to reinforce it around the cracks, possibly even adding extra layer of scrap plastic for strength (not so much that it interferes with whatever sits below). Then just sand the top and wrap it.
