2013 X6 Production Starts in April
(New member, first post, first BMW...)
I placed an order for a 2013 X6-M last week. My dealer told me they were switching over the line in Spartanburg for the 2013's in April. I was surfing the various fan sites to find a more specific info on the actual cutover date and noticed you guys had a schedule posted which indicated that the 2012's would run through July! (Yikes!) My dealer assured the cutover was to happen in early April. 2013 options/pricing has already established and the BMW system is currently accepting orders for the 2013 X6. I finally got my production number and we also have a Conf. Production date of April 16th. I understand that is not my actual build/production date, but rather a date when the actual build date will be scheduled. I am told that the line must be running before they can assign a build date, and that the "Conf Prod" date must be after that window opens up. So, if all of this is accurate and correct, the 2013 X6-M cutover will be in early April 2012. Its going to be a long 60 days - and yes - I got the Adaptive LED headlight option |

Also it was my understanding that the LED lights would be standard on M models. |

The dealer would not let me copy the price list, but I did get the car loaded except for the Rear Seat Entertainment system (no kids). I did copy down all the options that I DID order on my own sheet but it is at home at the moment.
However, Only a couple of options have changed if I remember correctly. The base price of the car went up $1600, the Full LED Headlights are a new $1900 option.. It looks like they also dropped the brushed aluminum interior trim option (at least with the ventilated seats/perforated marino leather combo). The $5994 21 inch tire option is no longer listed but there were two wheel options available at N/C. You could choose either the X6M or the X5M wheels (both 20"). I think the option numbers were something like 299m and 300m. I stuck with the standard X6M wheels. My dealer gave me a good trade for my 2003 FX45 and a "on-market" discount from MSRP (almost $6K). I can bring the list in tomorrow, but I think everything else is basically the same as the 2012. |

Thanks sounds like a nice truck. I just got the pricing order guides from my dealer for the Gran Coupe and the X5 and X6M. I'd post them but not sure if that is allowed. He didn't tell me not to but if your dealer wouldn't let you copy them, don't want to get anyone in trouble. Alss the pricing guide for the 2013 X6 35 and 50 as well.

Ahhhh! Please don't call it a "truck"! Sounds so unrefined... I also hate it when someone calls my FX45 a truck... I've even "chastised" my Infiniti dealer for doing this...
Anyway... I think its quite accurate to say that the only option/config/price changes (from 2012) are in my message above. If you compare the list you have in hand with the online 2012 configurator, I think you can back me up on this... (without posting documents which might be "verboten")... |

Regular X6 really have a lot of individual options available though. And the pricing on the grand coupe looks expensive considering the option packages available and that its still only a 6 cylindar. |

Actually i just noticed multi contoured seats are now standard. that is what I was hoping for and makes sense with the lower price of the vent seat package.

Oh coming from a car, I can assure you this is a truck - unless cars weigh 5,200 lbs all the sudden

Here is a transposed list of the hand made notes I took during the ordering process. The discussion at the top of this thread with respect to options/pricing for 2013 is confirmed (inc the reduction in the Ventilated Seat Package to $900).
These are the options and prices for the 2013 X6-M that I have on order: Option Description MSRP --------------- ------------------------------- ------- 13XN X6 M 2013 X6-M 92,900 A75 Melbourne Red Metallic N/C X25SW Black Perf Full Merino Leather 3,800 4M5 Nappa Leather Dash/Console N/C 4MY Carbon Leather Int Trim N/C 2NU 300M Style Wheels (Default) N/C ZAV Active Vent Seats 900 451 Active Driver Seat 453 Front Ventilated Seats ZCW Cold Weather Package 600 248 Heated Steering Wheel 496 Heated Rear Seats 464 Ski Bag ZDA Driver Assist Package 1,900 3AH Rear/Top View Camera 5AC Automatic High Beams 610 Heads Up Display ZPS Premium Sound Package 1,100 655 Sat Radio 752 Enh/Prem Sound ZRC Rear Climate Package 700 417 Rear Window Shades 4NB 4-Zone Climate Control 322 Comfort Acess/Keyless 1,000 323 Soft Close Doors 600 552 Full LED Lights 1,900 5DK Side View Camera 300 696 6 CD Changer 600 6NR BMW Apps 250 Dealer Installed Options Hidden Hitch, Removable Tongue, 2" Ball 1,200 All Weather Floor Mats 90 All Weather Cargo Liner 73 Embroidered Cargo Mat 130 Illuminated Door Sills 838 Once again, the only option I did NOT select was the Rear Entertainment package and I'm fairly sure it was still listed at $1700 - just like 2012). |

Hello,
I also just ordered a 2013 X6M carbon black with everything you listed including the only new option 552 the Full LED Headlights. Also no Rear entertainment: plenty of entertainment looking out the window! I was told the production will start 2nd week in March, ahead of standard X6. Price increase is really only $600 more than the 2012, since the multi confort seats are standard. I too am upgrading from the FX45, what a cowinkidink. |

Where are you getting the info about the early start for X6M's. There is precious little info out there about cutover dates already - even regarding just the 2013 X6. My dealer is telling me mid April for production - and I expect them to be quite optimistic - as it likely helps sell cars...
http://www.greenvilleonline.com/arti...X6-begin-April I have my production number but MyBMW online won't let me add it to my vehicle list. I'm not sure when I should expect to see more info. It should also be noted that the official "Conf Prod" date provided by BMW for my order is April 16th. I am led to understand that it indicates the date when my actual build date will be assigned and may basically coincide with the expected cutover date for the production line. I'ld obviously be quite happy if we get built a month earlier, but I'm guessing that might just be wishful thinking on the part of your dealer. Where are you getting this info? Have your tried running your production number on MyBMW? I'll be going down to Greenville for the Performance Delivery Option. Are you planning the same? |

Hello,
You are correct, my info comes from the dealer. He states that the M version will start before the standard, thus the earlier start. I guess we will see. My production number also does not work yet in the "add a vehicle" section. I am not going to participate in the delivery option, as I am already travling too much. How did you get the " Conf Prod" date? Cheers, |

My dealer provided me with an electronic copy of their order status sheet. There is a bunch of owner/vehicle specific data at the top (like prod number) which I have not included below, but the rest of the form included the following data (Note that "Est Prod Date" is empty):
Production Dates: [Yr/Mo/Wk] Quota [Yr/Mo]: 2012/04 Req. Prod: 2012/04/14 Sub. Req. Prod.: 2012/04/14 Conf. Prod.: 2012/04/16 Est. Prod. Date: [Mo/Day/Yr] Act. Prod. Date: [Mo/Day/Yr] |

Might I suggest dropping the Side view cameras and maybe the 6 disc CD changer? You could use the $900 in a plethora of better ways

The question was in regard to any option pricing that had changed from 2012 to 2013 - and that I was sure that the Rear Entertainment system option had not changed. Its not an issue of how/why I spend my money or what the relative value of each option is... (BTW - I don't have kids so no need for rear entertainment).
The goal was to be able to give a full option/price list for 2013... |

So I was responding to your selection. IF the intent of your post was to show the option pricing, why not just include the PDF? Are you saying your dealer would not give that to you? (time for a new dealer). Anyway, attached is the official pricing, from my dealer. PS - I hate to tell you, it is still a truck

Whats your problem dude?
No - The dealer WOULD NOT give me the PDF (as another member had already posted). We're just trying to get the option pricing out... Why are you being such a grinder? Someone pee in your cereal? |

The dealers are not supposed to release the official price lists until BMW posts the updates online... Sorry you don't like it that way...

No problem here. But thanks for taking the maturity level down a bit. Feel free to PM me if you would like to continue this discussion.

Thank you for the list Doug_999. May I suggest you post this in a new thread or perhaps as a sticky.
Will not get into search mode (including in this very forum) to prove that now archived threads have posted pdfs or spy pics ahead of an "official" release date; this is why the car forums exist. Furthermore, it already is "official" once one can pre-order. It is a subjective discussion that comes from one's knowledge and relationship with one's dealer, and thus being privvy to it. But alas, I will not be returning to this thread, as it has taken an unnecessary and dour turn. (a frown, a shake of the head and a roll of the eye).
