I bought my X5M back in April. It had 67,000 miles on it. It was from California and hadn't seen snow, so I thought after seeing the CARFAX to go check it out. Brought it home with plans of keeping it mostly stock.

First day home, I found a nice oil leak that ended up costing me about $5000 at the dealer. Wasn't really thrilled about my purchase at this point. My warranty didn't cover any of it.

First mod was cutting off the stock exhaust and welding in some pipes with flat black dual tips. Plugged up the vacuum lines that were running to the muffler actuators. I like the look and sound much more, it sounds deeper and gives more of a look that was looking for in the non rolled tips.

Next was spending some money an IND... paint matched reflectors front and back. Matte black emblems, side markers, and M logo.

Mocked up and custom built some intakes. I'm pretty happy with them, but them being made of steel, they go pretty hot under the hood. So I wrapped them in DEI reflective tape.

At anytime after driving it, you can put your hands on them and they're not too hot, I couldn't even touch them before.

Added some VRSF cat delete downpipes... Wrapped them in DEI header wrap and did the install myself... it was pretty miserable, but they are done and made a world of difference in terms of power, heat and sound... Mixed with my intakes, it's a symphony of anger when I step on it. I've received a bunch of compliments on the sound.

Got a great deal on a refurbished Velos tuner and tune directly from them. Got the stage 2+ done to accompany the intakes and downpipes. What a difference, the car was a monster before, but now it's just ridiculously fun to drive.

I was able to source a wireless charger setup for my glove box... did the retrofit and actually added it back to a deleted glove box. Fits my iPhone X perfect!

Added the red button starter as well since mine was a bit scratched.

Picked up a PTP turbo blanket since I'm on a quest to keep engine temps down. I also grabbed some of this DEI hose/wire cover wrap stuff. I hope that it will fit over some of the lines that become brittle in the engine bay... more of an experiment than anything. Seems like a good idea, but will be hard to see under it if there is a crack etc.

Some recent pics of how it stands now... Carbon black is more of a dark blue that shines metallic blue in the sun...

Crankcase vent valve tubes and turbo return... after the water pump was leaking so had that done as well.

Yeah... still need to do some lowering springs and spacers. Id been holding off since I wanted to get some new wheels. I'd like to find a solution for the brushed aluminum interior trim pieces I have. I want to maybe wrap them. I'd love to get the piano black ones, but didn't want to spend $1000 on that, but maybe...

Looks great, I didn't like my e39 m5 in Carbon black but it looks amazing on the e70! I was just looking into the Velos tuner earlier today, might spring for one of those myself.

I'm selling some BC coilovers if you're looking to lower yours a good bit. I'm not a huge fan of them to be honest, but I've heard of people having success by upgrading the springs

Maybe get them painted gloss black? I like that look too.

It seems it's time for a new battery... my current AGM battery is part number 61212353812... I googled for a replacement since I want to just get the same one and not have to worry about re-coding. My dealership already said they'd register it for free if I get the same one. Has this been superseded by a new PN?

Also, made me pretty nervous after I had to remove the red distribution block on top of the battery to see the part number/model... all of my steering was malfunctioned etc. went away on its own...
