Brake Function When Car Turns Off?!

I got brake work done the calipers. Now something is off, the brakes now feel spongy and I just noticed when you turn the car off the it doesn't apply that extra brake hold or additional braking. It feels as if the car is applying more pressure to the rotors.

I am asking for what is actually happening technically during that time.

Please all answers will be welcomed.

Thank you.

sounds like brake pads are not sitting on rotors properly when brakes are applied..

Sorry for the late reply.

I read up on it. What happen was I got new pads on new rotors, I had to do the brake process to mate them. After a few hundred miles it was good.
