X6 e71 buy?

Hi all,

I am new to this forum. Sorry if it was already asked before, but I need some advices.
Is it something I should pay special attention to when buing e71?

I am probably decided to go for 35d, because:
It has M57 engine
30d/35i: maybe not as agile in such heavy car
40d: not so reliable(N57)
50i: I love 8 cylinder engines, but I was told to avoid 4.4 biturbo at all costs

I´ve found some cars with time chains already replaced.
Should I search for something important to have in the car from extra equipment?

Thanks in advance!

I have an e71 with the 50i n63 engine. It’s a blast to drive and a ton of fun. But yea I had to pay 2000 to cover a new engine under the class action lawsuit. If you find a 50i that’s had the engine replaced, then you’re probably good for a bit.

I also have the 35i - n55 engine in my f25 x3. The n55 is a solid engine. Good power but still has all the typical oil leaks that bmws have.

I’d say if you want lots of power and fun, you can probably find a good deal on the n63 but make sure it’s either been replaced, or is lower mileage that it could be replaced under.

If you want reliability I think any of the others will be better.

Thanks, I was thinking about 50i a lot, but it´s not worth the risk for me.

So basically I had only two options, 35i and 35d. I heard there´s not much difference in fuel consumption between 35i and 50i, so I have chosen well equipped 35d in mineralsilber.

The car is at new home from yesterday. Surprisingly the engine sounds good under throttle and the power is...appropriate
Thinking about chip, blackline rear LCI lamps, front lamps eyebrows, led H8 AE and trunk lip now.
