BIMMERPOST App 5.x Thread (iPhone/iPad/Android)

I’m seeing issues with refreshing the list of threads with new posts. Sometimes this works, other times this appears to refresh but doesn’t actually load anything new.

I have to back out and reselect the forum (EG G80/G82) and then navgitate back in to get the list to update.

Yes I noticed this as well, at least in the subs area. I put in a fix with version 5.5.1 which will hopefully get approved today or tomorrow.

If you’re still seeing it happen after 5.5.1 could you let me know?

It will (hopefully) follow your phones setting for dark or light mode

This is now part of 5.5.2 which is available now. Although I may move the button somewhere else in future versions 👍

Today’s update resolved the app crashing issue when trying to add images to the garage.

Now Limegrntaln can stop giving me a hard time for not having added any images.

Did the image processing take a long time on your phone? I’m hoping it’s very fast on a 14 pro

I ended up doing it via my iPad but it wasn’t long at all. Maybe 30 seconds to do over 8 images.

No, it’s not bad at all. Sometimes I realize I try to upload RAW and they’re like 50-80mb.

That’s huge. Yea on my test devices I got the speed down to a few seconds for raw images, but no idea how it performes in the real world. I could get it faster but at the expense of image quality

Definitely not worth it. It’s definitely better to have quality images.

Still having a little trouble with quoting. Not sure if anyone else is. Unless it was fixed in this most recent update.

No problem here. I just tap the return key a couple times before tying and it separates the text from the quoted text.

Why is photo quality different if I post via the app versus uploading a local file through the website? It's always degraded via the app.

I haven't tried the garage thing but then I have a ton of random pictures there like the one above that I randomly posted in a thread but don't really have a use for otherwise for the most part. Is there not an algorithm that just provides the identical upload quality via the app? It's a pain to have to do it all on my computer or download it and go to the website on my phone. Also with the garage then there are a bunch of random pictures people can go look at on your profile? Not necessarily anything wrong with that but not needed to have a bunch of random pictures such as this one hanging out in my profile.

Image quality is subjective, so there is no algorithm that says what is the perfect quality. We have two different algorithms for attachments and the garage, so try out the garage and see what you think of it using the same e39 picture. If you like it better, we can easily roll that one out across the app. You can just delete the picture from your garage after you upload and look at it and decide if its good
