Some new mods...I've been going through ///M withdrawal for over a week now without the beast...I'm having the Active Autowerkes catless downpipes installed, Active Autowerkes stage 2+ tune installed, had the brake calipers powder coated Monte Carlo Blue with white M stickers, also had to replace the battery, luckily I did not need a new IBS cable...more pics coming soon

Since it was nice and warm out today, I was finally able to swap out both my X5's summer setup to (298m)winter setup...I really like the way gun metal looks on MCB I took a few more pics of the powder coated calipers, I'm considering changing the stock rotors to a set of drilled n slotted rotors and KW coil overs Last edited by Cattivo; 11-28-2015 at 04:11 AM.. |

The 299's on my truck had non run flats but they were still heavy and awkward to mount and remove...I thought you bought those yellow Brembos??? I also agree with you on the disgusting gaseous odor from the AA dp's, my parking garage is very big and I've been getting complaints from others on my extremely loud exhaust and how bad it smells like gas well after I leave...I may have to consider removing the straight pipes and getting some type of exhaust...Every time I go above 2k rpm, it sounds like I have my own personal trumpet player in the back seat I did the unthinkable today, I decided to try launch control since getting the tune and managed to break all 4 wheels loose for a good 5ft on dry pavement |

Which tune do you have?
I will say that the AA has improved their catless stage 2+ over their original stage 2 tune. They were able to eliminate the worst of the gaseous odor while returning more torque. The smell still presents itself on occasion, but not as obnoxious as it was before. I can live with it now. I DID buy the yellow Brembos, but they're still in their original boxes. They look awesome, but so do my OEMs. I am still undecided about installing them.... maybe I'll do that next spring if Gato doesn't buy them from me before then. Dude, I am so happy that you bought BBS SVs! Your truck is going to look awesome! |

Gato texted me the other day saying he wants those Brembos lol...Are the rear Brembo calipers larger than the OEM calipers? if so I would swap those out if I were you, the rear calipers compared to the front are minuscule My Style 298 winter wheels are gunmetal and really look good against the MCB, I can't wait for spring time...for now I'm still trying to decide on tires, it's between the PSS or P Zeros |

Gunmetal rules!!!
Yeah, that's the thing; the BBK definitely offers a significant upgrade to the rear, but the fronts do not seem as impressive as OEM when you compare them side by side. The floating M rotors with the brushed aluminum hubs and the OEM Brembo front calipers look freaking awesome behind my BBS SVs, so I am having mixed emotions about replacing them with something that may have less of an impact. Anyway, I gave Gato first dibs on the Brembos and told him I would hold them until Christmas. If he doesn't buy them, I may refinish them in a different color and put them on the X5m in the spring. |

Another warm day in NYC although cloudy... I took advantage of the weather and gave both X5's another full detail and 2 coats of wax before winter decides to show its ugly face

KWV3's is something that's on my to do list...probably the last thing on my list, I don't mind the stock height I use a 3 ton hydraulic jack along with steel 3 ton jack stands for added safety...I also use a jack pad adaptor I bought from Burger tunning while jacking up the truck to protect the factory jack points...works great for $19 Last edited by Cattivo; 12-27-2015 at 06:10 AM.. |

Some new goodies just arrived today...22'' BBS SV Titanium Wheels with Red BBS Center Caps & I followed M3Guys lead with the BMC Air Filters since I'm not a big fan of oiled air filters like K&N
I'm open to suggestions on 22'' tires for the new wheels...I'm leaning towards the PSS's or Pirelli P Zeros. I'm also waiting for the new Vorsteiner CF Rear Diffuser to arrive Last edited by Cattivo; 01-02-2016 at 04:05 PM.. |
