So is it better to cut open dp from center and pull dpf out then weld back ... and leave everything as is, also leave 1 egt sensor connected that tune requires ? Do you see any issues with this ? |

After reading this tread, I've made an appointment to have the Malone Stage 1 tune done in couple of weeks.
How much do you guys think deleting the DPF, SCR and no Urea injection will cost...including labour...I'm in Canada as well. It it too obnoxious or loud for daily driving? Does it reduce or increase the reliability of the vehicle....so far, so good? |

Just registered finally...great site guys thanks for all the awesome posts.
I am looking at doing 3.5" turbo back catless exhaust from Unobtanium Welding, ECU Tune from GSR Technik w/ full deletes, adding ATM intercooler, and EGR race pipe. That's all for now.... |

for the guys that have done this, how are things holding up long term? Can any Cali people confirm the truck will pass smog even with all the deletes and a turbo back exhaust? california was really weird about our X5 and made us smog it 2 years after purchasing brand new in 2013: |

No chance that it'll pass smog...OBD or otherwise. The car blows soot like a chimney and it shows Not ready status for the emissions.
As for holding up...still going strong with no issues! I think I have 72k Miles on the odometer now. Delete was somewhere back around 35k Miles iirc. |

I need to dig this thread out.
My X5d has a problem with both NOX sensors. BMW quoted me a fortune to have them replaced. Is there a vendor what sells this remove kit? Would this remove the NOX requirement as well? |

I hate to be that guy, but has anyone looked into just how many pollutants would be released from this mod? Don't get me wrong, I'm ready to pull the trigger with my local BMW specialist shop (Nixon Automotive, Burnaby BC). I'm just curious that in the long haul... If it would be better to just get an M version and call it a day. From what I've been told, I can't do much else with my spec of the 35d (suspension wise).
More power, more noise, more speed, but same handling... doesn't balance out for me. Also, I'm not into drag racing, but the x5 is an incredible freeway handler imho. Exit ramps, HOV lanes, long steep pulls (many hills), and overtaking most traffic when I need to is effortless. I thoroughly enjoy my commute and worry, that in the back of my mind, I would know that this is just a cheap and 'dirty' fix for more torque. So, A. does anyone have any numbers to compare exhaust pollution? And B. Are you better off with an M truck (if you can swing it, of course). Thanks all. If you have to ask then you shouldn't be looking to do this mod...go buy an M and be pollutant free

I would like to see some performance numbers stacked against an 'M' version... I've heard of 10 sec quarter mile 335d sedans, but can't find anything for this X5 mod. |

Well, Lt. undersmart when you ask stupid questions, you get stupid answers. You definitely our that guy.I haven't taken it to the track for a test and tune to get the 60ft. or 1/4 mile times. No I didn't compare a 0-60 either. No one is responding because they don't want to waste oxygen. Don't do the deletes and just drive it, it burns clean without them.

Hey there commander. Based on the videos shown on page 1 or other YouTube videos on the same subject it doesn't appear that any of the vehicles with this mod are "blowing soot like a chimney". It actually appears very much less than that description. Would it be too much to ask for a video demonstrating what you describe and the circumstances surrounding it, for example vid 1 cruising around vs vid 2 full throttle vs vid 3 working up a hill (heavy load).
