Your truck should have it! Those downpipes really get it off the line. I went out about 2 weeks ago and just wasnt launching well at all. Track was in terrible conditions.

You know... I really can't remember. It has to be close to 3 years ago. I think I was manually shifting, traction off, M mode and what not. Too many beers...

LOL no worries Ill try to figure it out. Nice trap speeds in your M5! How do you like the car? Try any AMGs before you got the M5.

Great thread guys, it's awesome to look back over years of guys racing these trucks. As soon as we have ours later this month I will start documenting the gains we see with tune, downpipe, etc. Still torn on which tune to select.

1/4 mile X6 50i
Ran my 2011 X6 50i at the track last night. Island Dragway NJ. Temp was 78 and humid. JB Stage 1(default settings) and AR catted DPs. For some reason my computer wasn't reading my USB cable correctly and couldn't connect to the software to up the boost more.
Best was 13.002 @107 She def has high 12s in her. Other runs were 13.053 and 13.028 all at 107. Need to solve the USB connection problem to adjust the boost. Otherwise, I'm hauling ass for a 50i with the Stage 1. Stage 2 must be amazing! |

Here's a post from the heartbreaker track of America, Bandimere Speedway, at 5800 ft elevation...
I took delivery of the car Thursday (back from the transporter - it never got shipped - long story) and drove it back to Denver, and continuing a tradition of taking our new cars to the track as soon as you have them, we went out to Bandimere Friday night. My wife got launch control (probably?) figured out, and this was the result: That run was with me in the passenger seat, 3 kids' car seats in the back, the spare, etc. There's probably at least 1/10th better in there without the additional ballast. 13.5 is pretty quick for any stock car at Bandimere. As an example my CTS-V ran 13.0 @ 107 stock. Looking forward to getting her car into the 12s with downpipes and a tune! |

Yesterday I went to a track rental at Great Lakes Dragway that was being hosted by a local SRT-8 Jeep shop, so I was racing other hi-po Jeeps all day (turbo, N/A, etc.) Everyone was real nice and were surprised how fast the X5M was with limited mods compared to their Jeeps. The weather was decent: 70*, 73% humidity, 30.26 in Hg, 1336 DA, slight headwind 10-15mph. I raced the fastest Jeep there which ran a 10.9 against me, the truck was nasty and he's shooting for 9's on the new setup. I swapped on my winter wheels/tires to drop some rotational mass and also get the benefits of a softer sidewall compared to the RFTs. I had 14 runs total and the truck consistently was running 12.2-12.3 @ 110-112 with 1.7-1.8 60' times. I played with tire pressure a little to try and drop the 60' but couldn't do better than 1.7's. I uploaded the current tune a few days ago and I feel like the truck gets faster over time from the DME learning (maybe in my head), but I'm going to see if Jerry at Eurocharged has any more power that he thinks he can extract. I may go back when the temps get cooler and hopefully a tail wind to get closer to an 11 sec pass
Mods: Eurocharged Tune, AP Cat less Downpipes, Gintani Exhaust M Settings: DSC Off, EDC Normal, Power Sport Best Runs of the day: Vids (low-quality): Last edited by Creamo3; 09-28-2015 at 09:39 AM.. |

Good stuff Creamo3. Thanks for sharing and thanks to everyone that has shared so far. This thread is important because it lets the world know how capable our SAV's are!
I can't wait to get mine to the strip this fall. I haven't really tinkered with the M in the last year as I've been focusing on making my s4 run in the 11's. Now that I accomplished that I am going to push to get the M running in the 11's! I think it has the power to do so

Im looking at getting into an x5M myself and wondering if anyone has upgraded their turbos here yet. The mod bug will bite me like it always does.

Yep... There are a few of us that are running Pure Turbos or turbo mods. The challenge is that we are pretty much exploring an unsupported platform. I'm very happy with my Pure stage 2, but I also feel that there is much more power being left on the table when compared to what some M5s are putting down with similar upgrades...

do you think it would be beneficial to go straight to pure stage 2 if the power can really be used? I'd love around 650-700WHP

S63 doesn't have a MAF vs the N63 which has two.
Flash tunes are pretty much all canned with slight tweaks. RK is the only one producing an intake since I haven't reproduced mine. There are like 10 exhaust options but I've yet to see a side by side of who's is better so I'm going custom myself. BMS stopped making the JB4 (they pulled an 11.7 on a stock truck running E30) which sucks for others because it's been helpful in me sorting my issues and now I'll be using it to control meth. Price wise from top to bottom is Pure ($5k), Turbo Labs of America ($1.5-$2k) or the Kunigawa ($280) compressor only wheels on eBay. The only place I've read about that'll built the trans to handle over 750hp is Nizpro in Australia for $5k in parts alone. That's still a lot of fun that can be had in these trucks, but after that we're pretty much on our own. |

I guess with JB4 being done for n63/S63, I will be going to Tuning by frank here.
