It seems like the LCI x5 doesn't get any of the front/rear LED turn signals nor does it get LED brake lights like most of the other newer models

Honestly, this new X5 facelift looks better than the X5M. No offense, but it does look better, especially the "Sparkling Brown" color. I wonder if this model also comes with aerodynamic kit....

platinum bronze on 3 series looks way lighter than this color, I wonder why?

X5 40d not for US
Surprisingly, despite strong sales of X5 35d in the States, BMW is keeping this old engine in the new facelifted version.
EU is getting new 40d with 307hp (from 740d). I guess it is due to some emission regulations in the US?? |

I think they're waiting to see if the strong diesel sales continue. If so, then I can see them bring it over in the future maybe.

I thought with US law, you don't have to take delivery if you don't want to? Perhaps order a 2011?

I'm happy about the interior color additions. Black and Oyster for me.

For those who have a 2010 diesel on order..
A few important notes regarding the LCI update..
If you have a 2010 diesel on order (like I do), unless you're wanting to get one of the new exterior colors.. Platinum Bronze, Grey, or Deep Ocean Blue.. there is no reason to wait.. As pointed out above.. the current 265hp diesel remains.. There will be NO 8 speed transmission for the 35d! All wood interior colors are the same.. If you wait to order the 2011 you may lose the opportunity to save $4500 bucks with the "ECO CREDIT" which expires 3/31/10.. these cars will likely not be available to order until atleast late April or May.. maybe even June.. |

am i the only one who thinks the new brake system that will save 1-2% fuel consumption is a waste? so if you get 20mpg you can get 20.2? if it's a 20gallon tank, you can save 4 miles?
on a side note. i really want to see the difference in how the the x35 will drive compare to the diesel version. i keep thinking a diesel is this slow a$$ torque monster. i guess i should test drive one as this will be my family car.
