I always tell people, “If you ever see a cop parked running RADAR/LIDAR, don’t speed by that location in the future.” We have our go-to spots to pick off speeders.

I couldn't possibly tell you how many Teams calls I've taken on the road. I find it funny when people driving put their phone cameras on - are you just trying to prove you're out and about doing your job?

Interesting take that this is even a need. The article calls out that this won't happen, but I can totally see this evolving to projecting someone's shared screen onto the dash while you're driving. Without that feature, this is just to get your smiling face in the meeting while you're driving.

So I was waiting for the coffee to be brewed at my local convenience store when a Police officer walked in. He walked around.. grabbed a few bags of chips, some sweets, and a monster energy drink. Still waiting, he walked up to the cashire. I raced up and offered to pay for his items. He graciously declined. I said something like "no sir, i really would like to pay". He again declined. So, what say you..
1. His personnal choice.
2. Local PD policy not to accept free-bees.
3. Union policy..

It is likely a mixture of #1 and #2. Generally, when people are gracious like that, we’ll decline once, but if they insist, we thank them for the gesture and accept it. If the department policy is explicit about such things being prohibited, then the officer will decline just so that he/she doesn’t receive discipline. It’s a bit ironic though, because even with an explicit policy, stations don’t turn away free food from restaurants. We regularly have food donated from Krispy Kreme, Panda Express, Marie Callendars, local restaurants, etc.

Would like to hear your take on the privileged class/white collar class protesting against the national guard trying to clean up parts of cities where it's not safe for the elderly or soft targets in general to walk around at night.

The people you’re referring to are always looking for something to protest. They are always offended or wronged……fighting for the marginalized class superficially, but not when it comes time to put money where their mouths are. They are just anarchists. They don’t want clean streets or more police presence. They don’t even want racial “equity” (…I friggin’ hate that overused word). If we solved too many issues, what would they have to justify the behavior?!?! As it sits now, they will find any reason to protest.

Haha!

Ours were/are merely for show. They aren’t mounted to the frame like CHP units. If we tried to use them to push anything substantial, they’d fold under pressure.
