That is not how the vaccine or vaccines in general work. It's like saying when I stepped in a puddle my feet got wet, so I'm not going to walk on side walks anymore.

You are right, they are not "mandated" no one can mandate you to get a vaccine man. But unless you want the child or elder to get pneumonia then it's very recommended.

Some classic flat-earthers here for sure. It sounds innocuous, but flu is one of the major killers worldwide. Vaccines (like e/t else in life) aren't 100%, but a free shot that cuts the odds that much is a good thing. Don't know if you all realize it, but your not getting vaccinated is a big factor in how quickly the viruses continue to adapt to the new vaccines. Not much smallpox about these days....

Scary that the current era of 'believe what you want, call the rest 'fake news' is undermining the foundation of scientific knowledge - the scientific process is really is one of mankind's greatest accomplishments: a system to counteract our brains inherent ability to bullshit ourselves into believing just what we want to, instead of what is really happening. It does, occasionally, produce uncomfortable or unwanted results. But what do I know, I'm just a cog in that system. With all this industry conspiracy, the human lifespan has been shrinking over the past few centuries, right? clear proof that all this 'sciency stuff' is just a gimmick - none of it actually WORKS. |

^ He was being sarcastic! Of course human life spans have been getting longer... but that is due to the advancement of science/medicine. That's was his point which got lost in black and white text.

I used to never get the flu shot, mostly because everyone I observed seemed to get flu like symptoms (though only for 2-3 days at most, so not the actual flu) from getting the shot. That was initially the case, though I noticed that this seemed to be declining year over year where less people got those symptoms.
It wasn't that I thought the shot was going to give me the flu, I just felt it was only a possibility, not a guarantee that it would prevent me from getting the flu...and to potentially deal with flu like symptoms for a few days for only a possibility that it would protect me - I just decided to take my chances and not bother with it. This was true until I had kids. Babies especially are very susceptible, so at that point, I was happy to get the shot on the off chance it would prevent me from getting the flu, because it is my kid in the mix now - it isn't just me. And I will continue to get it until the youngest is about 3 or 4 years old for that reason. And then, who knows, may go back to not getting it. |

and I get the flu about as much as anyone who gets flu vaccines "On February 22, 2011 the U.S. Supreme Court shielded drug companies from all liability for harm caused by vaccines mandated by government when companies could have made a safer vaccine. 1 From now on, drug companies selling vaccines in America will not be held accountable by a jury of our peers in a court of law if those vaccines brain damage us but could have been made less toxic. 2 If you get paralyzed by a flu shot or your child has a serious reaction to a vaccine required for school and becomes learning disabled, epileptic, autistic, asthmatic, diabetic or mentally retarded, you are on your own." |

Sources, to make you excited And for what it's worth, per the Mayo Clinic, the recommended daily amount of vitamin C for adult men is 90 milligrams and for adult women is 75 milligrams. Per Harvard University, At doses above 400 mg, vitamin C is excreted in the urine. A daily dose of 2,000 mg or more can cause nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and it may interfere with tests for blood sugar. Per the Emergen-C website, Emergen-C contains 1,000 mg of Vitamin C in each serving. How do you naysayers feel about the Hepatitis vaccines or Measles/Polio etc, both of which are either making a comeback or spreading faster because of lower vaccination rates? Last edited by minn19; 09-21-2018 at 01:38 PM.. |

I always thought it odd that anti vaccination folk shun medical science, but will follow/agree with somebody like Jenny McCarthy and her like minded group. I feel terrible about what happened to her child and others like them, but I also don’t appreciate her (and again like minded people) spreading false information about vaccines that harm many more children and adults for that matter.
I also found it extremely odd that she rails against vaccines as they are supposedly harmful to children (which, some are/may be), but then decides to endorse a vape product, which is undoubtedly 100% harmful to young (any) people and spreading quickly thanks to endorsements such as hers. It is truly an odd world we live in sometimes. Last edited by minn19; 09-21-2018 at 01:48 PM.. |
