Is your self leveling system still intact? If so, you can bring down the rear by simply adjusting the links. Takes 5 minutes max with simple tools.

Thank you Kimo!
Thank you bro, lost twins needs to meet in July! hopefully u'll be lowered and have LEDs by then (maybe I'll have my hood on, I doubt I'll have LEDs for that time) seems I also need to "fix" my suspension (level it) I'm thinking on going to Mpact since more people going there, but it's in PA and it's additional hour from me, so I need to think. (oh I forgot u won't have u X5M there, oh well) Thank you! How can I tell, I assume so but I'm not an expert. Quote:
I just took measurement all around and here are my numbers: Driver Front - 30-1/8" Passenger Front - 29-1/2" Driver Rear - 31-1/8" Passenger Rear - 30-5/8" so looks like I'm all over, not sure what needs to be done here! Thank you, maybe I'll be there! Last edited by boneca; 03-29-2016 at 10:05 PM.. |

First things first. Use these specs: Front: Height - 30 inches from ground to bottom of fender Rebound - 6 clicks from full closed Compression - 6 clicks from full closed. This should be one full turn of the adjuster from closed. If it's not just do one full turn. Rear: Height - 30 inches from ground to bottom of fender Rebound - 8 clicks from full closed Compression - 6 clicks from full closed. This should be one full turn of the adjuster from closed. If it's not just do one full turn. How to adjust height: Make sure your rear links are exactly the same length. If not it will throw everything off sensor/bag wise. They are super easy to remove. Make sure the car is asleep so the sensors do not go crazy. Go under your car behind your rear wheels, you will see them. 2 bolts (I think they are 8mm) each side and they come right out. Finger tight. Then measure them and make sure they are the same height. Based on your measurements set up your driver link to match your passenger, which is just about 30 based on your measurements. Now for the front. Again super easy to adjust, but you will need to jack up your car. No need remove the wheel. Just do one front at a time using the jacking point behind the front wheel. Once uncompressed slide your arms above your tires and you should see/feel the shock with the adjustment nut on the bottom of the spring. It will require an Allen wrench to loosen the lock on it. Then just use your coilover wrench and spin it up. Your driver side is fine. Just spin your passenger side 2 complete turns to start. Do complete turns using the lock as a guide so it's easy to track. After that you will have to drive around for a bit so everything settles. Then measure again. Your fronts will probably need some adjustment because your rears were not matching and that changes their height. Just have patience and you will be good to go in about an afternoon's worth of work. Adjusting compression/rebound: First you have to fully close them, righty tighty. Then back off until they reach there first click. This will be home base. They will close a hair past this click so look for it. Now just follow my specs above to set them. For front rebound you will have to remove the plastic panels covering the shock towers to get to it. For rear rebound they are accessible once you move the carpet under your trunk floor. Quote:

Craziness, beast looks awesome though with the snow. Weather is all screwed up right now. It's almost 90 here and muggy. That's normally summer weather...

the weather is pretty crazy, we had 70+ degrees on Friday and 23 today, every time I do an upgrade it snows the next day still not complaining about winter this year, comparing to last it's almost nothing, I do hope this is the last of snow we seeing this year! |

I'm finally trying to get to my suspension and level it, I haven't really had a chance to start but today I got under the rear and couldn't figure out which bolt I need to remove to check the length? I didn't have a chance to check the fronts yet, I will probably remove front wheels since I got 15mm spacers to replace my 12mm for more flash look. I'm going to NY this weekend but will try to get to it sometime next week.
Here are couple of pictures I took, I also don't have coil wrenches, will that cause issues? |

Your looking at the wrong thing. Not adjusting the dampers.
http://www.xoutpost.com/645825-post4.html Your adjusting these links! 10mm socket and 8mm spanner is all you need. Takes 5 mins |

leveling in progress, got the rear links out, made them identical size but car wouldn't settle in the same height at first, took them out few more times and I'm pretty much at 30, I might do another round, I didn't do the fronts yet, I don't have the coil wrench and didn't want to use pliers, changed 12mm spacers to 15mm spacers in the front, readjusted the front plate and install bumper plugs, I think that was all for tonight

Nice! Your rear won't be the same height until you get your front dialed in so don't stress over the height yet. The sensors work off their position in relation to the front.

Thanks, I think my rear at pretty much where I want them, I will try to adjust fronts to match the rear, go up a bit, trying to get to 30 all around. I will need to source the coil wrench as I'm not sure how I would turn the spinner other ways. |

If there too firm to do by hand then big set of adjustable pliers will work. Just wrap the collar with some painters tape or a old rag.
Otherwise hold on till you get a C-Spanner |
