I had mine changed on a 2013 X6M at 97500Km...now (98300km)...as far as I can tell the Indy did not reset...things have been fine.
What is the source for your comment....i take it the screenshot above applies to all S63's, even BMWs in general? Had the diffs and transfer case drained and filled also...never run the adapations on the transfer case either. These are jobs I'm doing myself from here on. Any info from anyone appreciated. |

Make's sense to me...Brilliant...Thanks again 0-60...
https://www.xhpflashtool.com/blog/adaptions/ "So, with that knowledge, what is it good for to reset adaptions regularly? Simple answer: For nothing. In rare cases, on transmissions with already very high positive adaptions, this can even lead to a situation, where your transmission will refuse to shift and you basically have to rebuild it, before it will work again. And that is the reason, why adaptions do not get reset by the dealer on service work. There is no reasons for it, unless hardware on the transmission has been changed." |

FYI, I came across these adaptation procedures from ZF. Again, this doesn't seem necessary for an oil change but for those items listed above.

I am performing the same device on my diese and have trouble getting the Mechatronic plug back in. I am able to insert it but can’t turn the ring. Should it be easy to turn? Should I be able to turn it with the plug not seated? I am not able to turn it when the plug is not in the connector. Thanks!

Thank you for your response, yes, I replaced the sleeve. I used a mirror to check the pins. They all look straight. Even holding the plug in my hand I am not able to turn the collar. Should it move easily? Ask do you push the plug in and then turn it or is turning the only way to insert it?

Hello... just wanted to circle back. I was not able to rotate the connector because the collar was not seated right. Playing a bit with the plug allowed me to seat the collar and I was able to get it connected to the Mechatronic. Thank you very much for all your help!

I saw in another thread that you got a used unit for a good price, but I thought I'd post this anyways for someone who may have the same symptoms as us. From shifting rough from 2-3 and 4-5 and clunking from 6-5 and 4-3...to failsafe messages to only wanting to ride in one gear and slipping while it was hunting for other gears...and not wanting to go into D or R, and not even moving if it actually engaged those gears. |

Real OEM says GA6HP26Z, however the plaque on mine says 6HP28X (1068050035). I'm confused af as I can't find the right solenoid kit. I reached out to FCP Euro and ZF directly so I guess I'll see what they say.
If anyone has any idea what's going on please chime in. Last edited by mirob; 09-19-2019 at 05:41 PM.. |

On mine it was also 6hp28X. I only got the solenoid kit ZF # 1068 298 047 along with new seals.
I had the 2nd to 3rd hard jerk during slow speed problem and it cured it. Not sure if the solenoid fix it or the seals. But either way you need to change the seal once you drop the mechatronic. |

Spent about 45 minutes with FCP Euro on the phone. Excellent customer service. What we figured out is that the 6HP28X is an updated 6HP26 unit. Supposed to handle more power. Anyhow, I ordered the following things and hope it will resolve my transmission issues:
BMW GA6HP26Z Mechatronic Service Kit - 24152333899KT3 Part #: KIT-24152333899KT3 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...24152333899kt3 Mechatronic Solenoid Kit (6HP21 6HP28) - ZF 1068298047 Part #: ZFS-1068298047 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/aut...e-106829804701 BMW Automatic Transmission Oil Pan Gasket - Genuine BMW 24117588753 Part #: BMW-24117588753 https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...x6-24117588753 I'll report back once I have it done. |

Changed the solenoids, sleeves, gaskets, filter, oil, etc... The vehicle drives again without going berserk - however, it's still exhibiting the rough shifts (2 to 3, 4-5 and 6-5 and 4-3). No codes on INPA. One thing my friend and I can't figure out though, INPA (or his version of it) doesn't show the "F6 - Activate" tab for the E70 so there is no way for me to reset transmission adaptation values. It doesn't show S63 when you select Engine either. According to most DIYs, the resetting of the adaptation is an important part of the process so I'm hoping that's where the issues is or my transmission is shot. So, what versions of INPA are you guys using on the E70? Are there different versions? Updated versions? Different software altogether (ISTA/Rheingold)? He has an E92 and we were able to clear codes and stuff but were not able to reset any values. Last edited by mirob; 10-02-2019 at 06:57 AM.. |
