I am actually getting the fenders also. Just wondering if it is worth it to spend the extra $$ to get the new LED. I was just going to do LCI conversion with M bumper, but it's really not much more to get M fenders. Still debating on cost for all this. Just need to know where to get the harness.

You do not have to take off front fender. All you have to take off is front wheel well inside liner to get to the lights. No, you do not need to take off the running board.

Some members are asking where to purchase LED headlights retrofit harness. Here is a place where I purchased mine harness from. They are selling complete harness cable for X6 LED headlights retrofit for $99.76 with $11.76 for delivery or $31.98 expedited FedEx service:

If installed and coded correctly, yes, all is working as factory intended, including my favorite feature of them all, automatic high-beam function. I have no idea how BMW did it, but it is so precise, I would not be able to control is as well manually with my own two eyes as BMW control unit is doing it by sensing near-by cars, light, etc. Superior job by BMW. They have geniuses working there at BMW factory, that's all I can say

I understand that you coded yours and the entire setup is fully functional. Did you run into any firmware issues or other problems? Also - Can you help me with mine? Thanks! Last edited by gixxerboy63; 04-01-2015 at 10:12 PM.. |

I was very lucky in the sense that I did not run into any issues and did not run into any firmware issues. I did replace my FRM3 module with one that's just one part# before the latest one. "61359342897" this is the latest one available from BMW, "61359308375" this is the one I have installed. Purchased it used, re-coded with expert mode, all is working as intended. Zero issues. Feel free to ask any specific questions related to the retrofit and I will be more than happy to answer then for you.

Before I sold my LED's I looked into getting the wiring harness from my indy shop, they told me it cost about $100 straight from Germany and it would of taken them a month to get it. If you want I can give them a call and find out where they were going to get it from

FINALLY!!!
I was able to order the harness through WWW.PARTSALE.EU (Hopefully it will arrive soon). Now that I have the headlights and the harness is hopefully on it's way, what else do I need to do? purchase FRM3 footwell module? and code the vehicle.... how is that accomplished? |
