Those are the OEM LED's that come standard on the LCI X5's (...from late 2011-on I believe). My truck is a 2013. Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 07-25-2013 at 06:18 PM.. |

It's a pity there is no way to replicate this by going aftermarket. I believe one member has successfully done the retrofit, but it's not cheap unless you happen to stumble upon some OEM lights on eBay. I decided not to go the silly LED route since the rings just don't play well with them, and just buy some nice H8 halogen bulbs. They're in the mail now, I'll see how they turn out.

Sure! Here are a few that I took with my iPhone5 (..forgive me for the less than stellar quality). Rather than modify the actual fender like PSI did to their project 5.0, it was much easier to just modify the bumper itself, especially since my car is a lease (..and I didn't want to start messing with the metal body work).

Thanks man. Actually I have no plans to do the X5M rear. It's just not a drastic enough of a difference from the M-Tech rear to warrant the change. Plus, I don't have an X5M exhaust. My mod plans will come to a conclusion once I get a Vorsteiner lip and the MORR wheels (..and possibly the X5M gauge cluster, but that's highly unlikely; I may just do an LED change throughout the car like another member did, only I plan to do just the gauge cluster and the color around the iDrive knob). I installed the X5M shifter last night! Here is his LED work up: ..and here's the link to his thread. Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 07-26-2013 at 02:57 PM.. |

Yeah, if I get yours. LOL! That wasn't part of my plan, you're just tempting me with a stellar deal. I found myself searching Ebay for an X5M rear bumper (..and calling my parts hook-up).....damn you! VS lip comes first though. Gotta complete the front before I move on. Sadly, I JUST missed a replica VS lip on Ebay about a month ago. I saw it going for $600 and thought, "Ehhhh! It's Ebay. It'll be there later. I need to focus on the front bumper and the body work first." Well, it sold, and I haven't seen another one pop up yet. |

Vorsteiner lip installed. My truck needs a wash, but you get the gist! Not the best picture quality (..iPhone5....sun's blazing....etc.), so I'm going to stop by EAS and have them shoot it again once it's clean.

Thanks man! I'm really, really happy with the way this project turned out. I've become so attached to this truck in the two months that I've owned it. I think I'm going to stop at the X6M hood. I previously planned to do the MORR wheels, but I really like the reps.

What is the purpose of the X6M bonnet? Does it look dramatically different and will it be a direct fit to the X5? |

The 2013 X6M hood is like an M3 hood (..hood bulge). It'll be a direct fit. |
