I hope so. I've been eagerly awaiting this phase of my modification plans for a few weeks now. Tomorrow afternoon the X goes into the shop. It's going to be a long 5 days. LOL! The photos that he sends me as the work is being completed will only serve to add more excitement. Hell, I'm going to be happy just to see photos of the damn thing mounted, knowing that there weren't any snafus and that prep/paint is all that's left.
edit: She's officially in the shop. Countdown!!!! |

Update:
So here are the first set of photos from the shop. The bumper will need to be modified as seen below.... Because of the way that the X5M bumper mates to the body of the X5M, these tabs will need to be cut/ground down or off in order for the bumper to fit flush. Additionally, the corner area of the bumper will need to be ground down/modified because of the slight variance in the X5M/M-Sport fenders. The X5M shortened fender flares also require a new hole to be tapped in the fender (..unseen once mounted obviously) because there is no mount point at the shortened end. I will keep you guys posted. |

Let's just hope them rubbing the new bumper against the rest of your pristine paint won't give you too much of a mental breakdown!

Update: I may not get the X back until tomorrow evening. Fitment is still in the fine tuning process, and he mentioned that the fender well liner needs to be trimmed about 1/4". He will be sending another picture sometime today. Last edited by Sedan_Clan; 07-18-2013 at 03:27 PM.. |

Update #2:
Here are pics of the nearly complete fitment of the X5M bumper onto my 2013 X5 35i. My body shop dudes are doing the business! One more fill session, and the bumper will be ready for prep/paint and final fitment (..gaps present in the photos are due to the fact that the fender flares/bumper weren't fully mounted). Also, they made some additional holes at the bottom of the bumper where it mounts to the engine cover to bolt/screw the bumper sufficiently. P.S. Damn, my FMI is smaller than a newborn baby. Update #3:
The parts have been primed, sealed and are ready for paint. My body shop connect had to fabricate a few mount points for the X5M fender flares (..rivet points are the same however) and trim the corners a bit more, but it turned out well. Parts will be painted Monday, installed and polished Tuesday, and I get her back on Wednesday. |

The parts are painted and will be installed today. They are detailing the car, then installing and polishing the bumper and fender flares. Fully installed photos coming later this evening. |

And here are a few photos taken when I brought the X5 to EAS this morning to have the CEL coded (...caused by the removal of the fog lamps/cornering lights)....
