Anyone have input on the E30 map? Are DPs recommended for this tune?
Just had my DME unlocked, got a dedicated tablet, Twisted Tuning cable is on the way, just need to pick a map. Already have BMS air filter, charge pipe is coming soon, eventually will get catless DP. |

TT, can you elaborate on this?
"the DME's in these cars have similar failsafe's for EGT. that's not just a diesel thing. There are safeties for cat temps and etc." Does the system cut back timing or reduce turbo pressure at a certain temperature? The reason I ask is I have been using my X5 to tow here lately in a pinch and I haven't had time to switch back to stock from stage 2. I go easy when towing and try not to push the motor to hard, I need to make time to work on this tow tune with you. I don't have a setup to monitor everything and I'm going to work on that at some point also. I'd probably feel better when towing if I could watch my egt's. On a side note, I just took a 700 mile round trip with my stage 2 tune and averaged 27 mpg!! My everyday back and forth to work 30 miles gets me 24.2 mpg. 80% highway with 10 stops. Stock I was getting 21.7 |

All you need is MHD to monitor. it has what you need. Being that the car doesnt have actual EGT sensors, it have a temperature model that estimates based on a few things. Should remain fairly accurate on stock turbo though. |

Mnstr,
What transmission are you going to use? Stock or a modified one? I don't see making 700+hp out of the engine an issue. I think putting it to the ground and having a trans that will hold up is the bigger problem. I'm glad your trying it though and can shed some light on this for the rest of us. |

Finally had the chance to flash my car.
Ho-lee-shit. Went for the Stage 1+ and it’s insane over the stock tune. I love it. Can’t wait to get downpipes and go for Stage 2 or E85. 2 questions- 1. For those using stage 1+, did you limit power to the gears? If so, what are your settings? 2. How long did the initial flash take? Seems like most people experienced 20-35min. Mine literally did it in 7 min. I honestly thought something was going to be wrong when the flash completed but everything worked perfectly. |

glad you like it. If you are using one of my Blaze cables or the Bimmergeeks cables, then the initial flash would be faster. |

stage one map suggests intercooler. from what i read e70 n55 has an intercooler which is 30% larger than an e90 n55. i guess the bump of 30% for the e70 is due to load increase / because of added mass. Id like to know what you guys think about that and do i need to have a custom intercooler made to run your maps

stock boost pressure. or higher in cold weather. its not efficient at all beyond a single gear pull.
map writes should be 30 seconds with our cable |
