And Max wins... he was so much faster. And seems to manage his tyres better than anyone. You can see the difference with Piastri's tyres, especially rear.
The little error at the beginning, not coming in right away for inters made no real difference in the end.

And GAS scoring important points now that Alpine is in management disarray.

I don’t think it’s an error that they didn’t bring max in on lap 1. Too much risk to lose position then end up in 10th with someone having a major accident and red flag race restart. Definitely right to get one lap to preserve track position then pit.

The risk of loosing position also goes for pitting in the 2nd lap as the ratio of who came in 1st and 2nd lap was about 50-50.
If he came in right away, and if RB had chosen to double stack, they even could have used PER as a stop for a safe release if that had been necessary, and as RB is the first team in the pitlane, Max has right of way when driving through the pitlane.
So I still think pitting right away would be the better strategic call.
But max being on low downforce means he has the ability to overtake PIA with high downforce. If PIA was also on low downforce that might have been different, as there is no DRS in a wet race.
So the difference in downforce settings might have been Max' luck.

But in the end this is only about 1 point. Not important in the grand scheme of things. PIA is not gonna close on Max to 1 point in the WDC at the end of the season


And Checo had a hole in his car from Hammy ramming him.
So that explains his retirement and racepace problems right before that.

And of course both Sky's 'analist' and Brundle classes Hammy crashing into Checo more as a racing incident than causing a crash....
British racing media again with their continous smear against RB.

Brundle actually saying that Hammy can't just disappear....Like Checo can...
Hammy drove Checo to the edge of the track and then drifted into him. It's that simple.
If Checo would have dodged the attack, he would have been driving in the gravelpit with all four wheels. And as Hammy drove his front wheel into Checo's sidepod there is no doubt over who was in front.
Looks a bit like the Hammy Copse scenario. Luckily this time no one got hurt, but this also happened on high speed.

Just watched the Sprint and MAX getting past PIA was classic, HAM's lunge at Checo was desperate and desolate and penalty for him well deserved.

Sky team is Merc team supporters especially Brundle in such circumstances, Checo's radiator must have been damaged from Ham hit and coolant going onto rear tyre maybe made his car undrivable.

I mean the drivers style from MAX vs Checo is like day and night .
Sure . Checo won today 3-4 postions , but by the fast RB pit .
Other than that he was kissed by LEW's dirty tricks and Checo's race was over .
In other words : Checo didn't performed a thing ...
Won't speak about his last 5-6 (bad)! races , that's why I think Checo's is even too bad to be RB's second driver .
In the beginning of this season he said : I can beat MAX !
