Now i'm thinking it's probably due to lack of fog ligths on Ms
Fog on regular X6 also act as corner light, to light up the driveway as you turn, etc. On Ms corner light, i think is in the headlight, probably between xenon bulbs This may be the reason |

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the link to work. I get an error that states "invaild post specified." I think the "For Sale" link in your signature still states: Does NOT FIT: X6, X6M, or X5M |

Just swaped out my angel eyes bulb from Weisslecht to the PIAAs mentined in this thread. I can confirm that the PIAAs are brighter but not much. About 20% brighter if any. Nothing to be jumping up and down about. Now, only if the bulb manufacturers can give us a lumen rating on the LEDs they use. The only good thing about the PIAAs are that they are very compact. No "ballasts" and the bulb it self is practically the same size as normal non LED bulbs.

LUX's last post states that his lights fit the X6, then no follow-up note to clarify that the information is incorrect.
Before this I was just waiting, but now I'm confused as well... update please from Mr. Lux??? anyone? anyone? |

Just to report back on more findings. Because of my burned out PIAAs (which was sent back for an exchange.), I experimented with couple of bulb to see for my self what kind of results I get. First, PIAA Extreme White 4150k. Not white enough at all. Just a hair whiter and brighter then stock but no where near what we want to achieve. Second, GP Thunder 8500k. Interesting result. The inner ring is white and intense. The white is very close to the F10 BMW "liquid light" white and the intensity is really very good as well. The intensity is even brighter then any of the LED replacements I've seen (have yet to seen LUX). BUT....here is the big BUT. The outer ring's intensity falls off dramaticly. I mean I've never see a larger difference between the inner ring and the outer ring of all the LED and H8 bulbs I've tried. Very strange. Also the outer ring have this weird green tint to the look. I guess it's from the intensity falling off affecting the spectrum of the light.
If only Mr. Lux can get his act together....wink, wink, caugh, caugh..... Now for discussion: Why can't the LED manufacturers just put brighter LED in these things? Maybe Mr. Lux can chime in on this one. |
