What tires/wheels for X6M in snow?
I assume the tires that you get stock for the X6M are performance and are not recommended in the snow.
If so what tires do you recommend? I would probably get 18 or 19 inch wheels to keep the width narrow. Thanks for any input. Dave |

19 inch Continental extremecontact DSW, unless you specifically want snow tires. I recommend Dunlop Grandtrek WT M3. Most tires that are strictly for snow are all in the same IMO.

My POV is different...My experiences with dedicated winter rubber is that they do vary tremendously. The biggest difference is whether a tire is winter sport or snow/ice. These differences in ratings (and their rubber compounds) result in vastly different driving characteristics.
Snow/Ice tires give greatest traction but (imo) are like driving on rubber bands..An example of these would be the Blizzak WS series. On the other hand, driving on Winter Sport tires were terrific. You give up something in the traction department (relative to snow/ice) but they are a much more live-able winter tire and vastly superior to a non-snow tire. An example of these are the Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's or Blizzak LM series. For my X6 I run The Pirelli winter rubber - love em and they make the X6 an unstoppable beast in our cold, snowy winters..
