2011 X5 35i Standard VS Premium VS Sports ?
So, trying to get prices on 2011 x5 35i (LCI), seems that there are 3 different versions of this car and all 3 are a bit different in that the options available for each model are limited.
From what I can tell so far: Standard Model: Comes with Leatherette, cannot even add Leather Interior or Premium Package. Also running boards are not an option here (what gives). Only options you have are: spare, window shades, heated front seats, nav, bluetooth, sat radio, iPod. So far from what I can tell the base MSRP is $1,800 lower, yes lower on 2011 x35i standard than 2010 x30i. Premium Model: Host of options but cannot get M*Sport with this level. Sports Model: Highest Starting MSRP of the 3 and has M*Sport option and options list is longer than the rest of the models. Does anyone know of any other differences besides what's mentioned? It sounds like the Standard Model may work for me (though I really wanted running boards), but I don't mind the leatherette at all, it's very easy to clean/wash etc. and I'm used to it on my 3. Since these are new I don't want to order a standard model only to find out later that this version has extra black plastic on the bumpers or something... I think that is a question that nobody (including my CA) knows the answer to yet....

I was having a exact same question. 2011 x5 35i standard is a steal if you are not into leather seats or other sporty stuffs.
As far as I am concerned, those three versions of 35i are exactly same in "outter appearance." Except, of course, wheels (you can get OEM wheels later in e-bay easily) I am also going for BARE 35i standard without any options added (not even Nav, I am a hiker and would like to keep portable one that I can carry) I believe invoice comes around $42,135 plus $875 destination charge. With $1000 + invoice, I am hoping to pull $45,000 OTD price. (VA tax = 3% + around $500~600 Fees) |

Tag Link...if BMW Fairfax is charging 500-600 in fees, I suggest you contact Passport BMW.
I just ordered a 2011 x5 35i M-sport package from them. Good that you guys are able to just go for the standard 35i. I am just spoiled with what I have on my M3 that I got most of the major packages plus HUD on the wife's x5. If she had let me, I would've gotten a comfort access and premium sound as well. She only cared about the Ipod adapter though, which is standard on the Premium and Sports activity. |

There are some list of nice standard features for 35i standard
- 8-speed shiftable automatic transmission - 18 inch wheels - Power glass sunroof (not panoramic one like Premium or Sports but still comes with one) - Xenon headlights - 8-way power passenger seat (not 20-way multi-contour but good enough for most) - Bucket front seats - Leatherette upholstery - Memorized setting for 2 drivers - Mermrized setting includes seating, audio, climate control, exterior mirros |

Thx! Darwin316 I will try passport. One thing about passport is, I don't like them putting black lable in the bag of the car... is it possible not to have those stickers? I believe Fairfax & sterling put their logo on license plate not on the surface of the car.
Could I ask how your deal was? Invoice + $X? |

You guys are getting some good deals there on the East Coast...
So far best price I have in So Cal on 35i Standard is about $1,900 under MSRP which is $43,900 before destination and any options. True though I think this is a pretty good deal that they have this standard model offered at a lower price point... Leatherette is fine with me and I can add Nav and iPod and just do a DIY on the running boards later...

carsdirect does a great job of showing the options at the different trim levels...and the inter-dependencies. In additon to the various packages, there's "Option 1" which gives some flexibility. I find cardirects's price lists match almost 1-to-1 w/ BMW wholesale price lists.

My wife has a 2011 X5 Premium on order from Passport. No idea of build week yet. She loaded it out pretty well. I think the Premium model is the best starting value for the money.

Roof Rails - I personally like it without (subjective) Panoramic Moonroof - IMO this is the best of the bunch Wood Trim - I don't even know what this means, Basic will still have wood. Privacy Glass - Take it or leave it Power Steering Column - Easy manual adjustment Leather - This would be a killer for some, though I prefer leatherette for durability. iPod/USB Adapter - A must for me but I can get it in Basic model for $400 Those are nice-to-haves, but worth $6k extra?

Is anyone else looking at pricing for 2011 x5 standard? My CA told me that in order to get wood trim, you have to buy the convenience package, or else you're stuck with aluminum trim as default.
Sounds fishy to me, and not very convenient either!
