Yogurt before sleep?

I know it's good for you cuz of the protein and stuff but is it smart to eat it at night? I was reading the nutrition facts and it seems to have some fat in it as well. It's the natural kind by the way not the artificial flavored bs.

Yea yogurt is good. But a protein shake or bar is better. The reason why some yogurts are not all that great is becuase they have sugar! I believe 14-17 grams of sugar. And your putting that to your stomach and sleeping on it.

Peanut butter is a better option. But only 1 table spoon from whole foods.

That's what I just bought not too long ago. Got 2 more large tubes to go. 650grams per tube. 100grams only 4g of sugar. Not that bad and they taste great!

You need to take in casein type protein so it slowly digests throughout the night.

Which is in fact found in dairy products.... milk in particular is good.. skim of course

When I was getting big, I'd take a casein shake before bed. Good stuff.

SUCRALOSE/SPLENDA!

Linked to weight gain and destruction of gut flora (bye bye immune system and digestion). It's a artificial, toxic, man made chemical (1,6-dichloro-1,6-dideoxy-BETA-D-fructofuranosyl-4-chloro-4-deoxy-alpha-D-galactopyranoside.64) and may contain heavy metals and other impurities.

These companies don't give a shit about your health. Read your labels.

Artificial flavoring and colorings too. Read the label. If something is sweet and has zero carbohydrate, watch out they threw something in there.

Fats and amino acids work well for me at night to stabilize blood sugar while sleeping and prevent muscle wasting. Norwegian cod liver oil caps/fish oil caps (Pharmex) along with some branched chain amino acid (BCAAs) and/or glutamine will ensure you don't awaken due to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).

If you're serious about body composition improvement and good health, I recommend being a sleep by 1030 pm at the latest.

Whey products are largely chemistry experiments so good move. You don't want sucralose in your system.

I eat the greek type of yogurt not sweetened stuff. So I'm not worried about the sugar but more of the fats in it it. And i wouldn't recommend you guys to drink so many protein shakes. Your liver has a very hard time breaking all that stuff down and so its not all that great for you. I'll probably drink a protein shake once ever few months on days that I have not eaten any protein. Try to get your protein intake naturally.

After some tips from Bobby Light , loved that episode, I quit the protein powder. I was using a lesser brand and noticed a pain in my lower gut and a pooch. Sick cows being used to make it was more than enough to shove it in the trash.

?

Should I be drinking my shake before I go to bed. I am looking at only having to clean the blender once a day BTW.

Using.

2% milk.
Dannon low fat vanilla yogurt.
Natural peanut butter.
Liquid egg whites.

Thanks!

That shake sounds fkn sick. Liquid egg whites?

My shake:
2 cups raw oats
2 cups mixed berries
2 cups 2% milk
1 scoop of ON Whey (I know it should be casein, but don't have the money for a 2nd tub of whey yet).
Scoop of natty PB

It's over 1,000 cals, can't be assed right now to find the exact amount. Although it depends if you're trying to gain weight or not. I just wanted to say that putting liquid egg whites in your shake is disgusting and can lead to some vitamin deficiency if I am not mistaken (due to them being raw).

No milk, use water. Faster results and unnecessary carbs and sugar from the milk. Depending on what protein shake power you use take it 3 times a day.

And I just realized the things you listed where the actual ingredients in the shake lol, my bad.

The only advice I can give you is what you just posted for your protein shake. Drink it once a day or 2 times a day max but make sure its on heavy lifting days.

Holy shit 2 cups of oats! I hate mixing oats because when you blend it they fall in the bottom the cup and they are chunking watery shit lol
