X5 3.0sd vs 2008 xDrive 3.5d
Hi guys,
I'm new on this forum, so I would like first to say "Hello" to everybody Now, I would really much appreciate your help/advice on the following topic: I'm thinking now to change my 2006 535d with a brand new X5 with the same engine (3 liter bi-turbo). I have two options: 1. Either order one and wait 4-6 months. 2. Either buy a show model from the dealer (build June 2008). In this case, the model is 3.0sd (the dealer said is exactly the same engine, only the "logo" is different). The 2008 X5 model (build from September onwards are called: xDrive 3.5d). My question to you is: "Does the dealer saying the true and the only difference between the two models (the one till September 2008 and the new one) is only the "logo" ?" Many thanks in advance. |

It is the same twin-turbo 3.0L engine. The 3.0sd model produces 286HP but the xDrive35d in North America will be rated at a lower 265HP. I do not know if the xDrive35d in Europe will be rated at 286HP. I would think it will.

First thing, you will not have to wait more than 2 months for yours NEW bmw x5 .if you order it today you will have it before Christmas.
Xdrive is mark for x6 and now obviuslynow for x5..it is the same engine 3.0d and with 286 hp! Production year 2009 starts from october,so that is a new mark x5 xdrive 35d,but it is a same car as was built before..it can only loaded with more optional equipment. if i were in your place i will oreder a new one and wait 2-3 months. |
