Front seats stitching unraveling.
Hi All,
Looking for some suggestions on repairing the stitching. Obviously taking the seats out and pulling them apart to access the leather from underneath is the proper fix. BUT I'm interested to talk to someone who's done it. Pulling the seats apart is a complex process and I haven't found any good YouTube videos on the process. I just can't manage to fix the stitching from above. ... and yes, I know I have to disconnect the battery before I remove the seats so as not to upset the airbag. |

It’s a hell of a job, you will need some speciaal tools to.
I did my E90 Manuel sport Seats retrofit to full electric, because the original Seats where Braun and the brand new electric Seats where black, I had to remove the Braun leather an put it on the black Seats. I may have some picture’s saved. If you have to remove the leathercover from the backreast thats the “easy” Part, If you need to remove the leather cover from the Seat (flatarea) That’s a PITA. Be very carfull not to damage any plastic cover that you have to remove. You will need an long handel very sharp wire cutter, because the cover is hold by hard steel clamps, you will need to cut them all (and replace when mounting) Also I used an 12 volt power suply to activate the electric parts to get acces. |
