E70 3.0d 2007 - increased fuel consumption
Hello,
I'musing my X5 for almost 8 years. Over a year ago I've observed, that fuel consumption has increased. I had the oil leak from intake manifold. Month ago I've replaced and sealed it. But still the fuel consumption is too high (on highway, with 120km/h it was 8l/100km now 10l/100km). Additionally I found that exhaust is covered with black dry soot. I assume not enough air is delivered to motor. Computer is trying to keep power by increasing fuel. What I have checked: On idle Correction injection quantities from smooth running regulator in [mg/stroke]: Cylinder 1: 0.5 Cylinder 5: -0.2 Cylinder 3: -0.1 Cylinder 6: -0.6 Cylinder 2: 0.2 Cylinder 4: 0.1 OK: -5.0 to 4.0 Critical: Rate < -5.0 or > 4.0 with 2000 rotat. Message Duration: 0 Minutes 0.05 Seconds (14:37:45.826 ... 14:37:45.874 ) Correction injection quantities from smooth running regulator in [mg/stroke]: Cylinder 1: 1.3 Cylinder 5: -0.5 Cylinder 3: -0.4 Cylinder 6: -0.8 Cylinder 2: 0.1 Cylinder 4: 0.3 Boost pressure = ambient pressure ±25 mbar Actual values: Boost pressure: 1017mbar Ambient pressure: 994mbar Difference: -23mbar Measured values, mass air system: Engine speed: 696 rpm Injector volume: 7.0 mg Air mass, actual value: 360.2 mg Air mass, target value: 377.6 mg Activation, EGR valve: 65 % Boost pressure, actual value: 1017 mbar Boost pressure, target value: 1011 mbar Activation, boost pressure actuator: 95 % Intake air temperature: 41.7 °C Charge air temperature: 45.2 °C Message Duration: 0 Minutes 0.04 Seconds (14:59:33.776 ... 14:59:33.810 ) Measured values, mass air system: Engine speed: 818 rpm Injector volume: 2.4 mg Air mass, actual value: 459.5 mg Air mass, target value: 397.0 mg Activation, EGR valve: 77 % Boost pressure, actual value: 1132 mbar Boost pressure, target value: 1003 mbar Activation, boost pressure actuator: 95 % Intake air temperature: 39.7 °C Charge air temperature: 46.2 °C Rail pressure: Ciśnienie na listwie common rail: Message Duration: 0 Minutes 0.05 Seconds (14:59:37.314 ... 14:59:37.362 ) Measured values, rail pressure control: Engine speed: 704 rpm Coolant temperature: 85.5 °C Injector volume: 7.1 mg Rail pressure, actual value: 270.3 bar Rail pressure, target value: 270.0 bar Activation, pressure control valve: 25.9 % Activation, volume control valve: 39.7 % Intake air temperature: 39.2 °C The values are looking ok, so what's more I should check? The maximum power and torque is correct (presented on sport display): ~230KM and ~500Nm. It looks like the computer is giving too much fuel constantly, independently of the motor speed (always like 20% more fuel). DPF is clear. Any advice is welcome best regards Maciek |
