X6m Injector or ECU problems?
I have this x6m for about 6 years, only has 36k km on the clock, but it has been giving so many issues. The first set of issues were misfires from random cylinders. I brought it to the dealer and they replaced 3 injectors, 8 plugs and 8 coils. Worked for awhile then same issue came back until i took it into my own hands and purchased 6 injectors and 8 coils and plugs and compensated them last week using Ista and worked flawlessly.
Yesterday morning I went to start the vehicle in the morning, and then in the evening started again just to hair misfires like I never heard before (NO CEL) I found these codes: 30BC Injectors x,y,z or Dme, internal failure and 30BD with the same description. Also another code was 2f1e LIN? Through my troubleshooting I found out that Injectors #3,4,7,8 were not functional or deactivated. I cant come to a conclusion because of a number of possibilities: 1. Engine wiring 2. Injectors (I highly doubt 4 will fail at once) 3. ECU Programming or 4. ECU itself. Can somebody please help? |

Have you checked your vacuum lines for any leaks? get a smoke test done. This can sometimes happen and the engine sensor will think there a fault during the mixture of air spark or fuel.... happened to me and a vacuum hose had popped off. also check for cracked split hoses also

Sorry for taking this long to reply.
The vehicle was running fine for 2 days and then the code came back, after some misfiring and stuttering. Disconnected the injector harness and it cleared. Earlier today it showed the same symptoms and then the codes came up. Disconnected the harness but this time it doesn't clear, but reads bank one injectors, not bank 2. I will check the mosfets tonight |

Had same issue last week, it was my
Ecm. I had to replace it. If you have an M model then it has to be a MSD85.3 ecu. Just because it looks the same doesn't mean it's the same. I learned the hard way. |

By the way those injectors are good for close to 1000 hp if you’re doing updates or upgrades especially after you have them replaced with the recalled injectors from Bmw. ! Hope that helps in the future

The dealer won't replace the injectors for free... tried that already. Just send the ecm to be cloned because the repair shop could not find the issue. I hope this fixes the issue. I would like to change to index 11 or 12 injectors in the future and run a stage 2 (downpipes) aiming for 700hp, if things go well

Update: So the shop I sent the DME to clone said that they cannot clone it into a used DME, so I ended up getting a DME+CAS+Key combo from ebay for a x5m. Will these modules fit directly and car fire up? Or will some coding have to be done to change the VIN to the original, and if so, how do I go along doing this?
