Rear tires 315/35/20

As today Dec 07, 2018 just purchased both rear tires and installed continental DWS06, they claimed will last at least 50k miles. We'll see..how long these tires gonna last.

I had continental DW extreme contact summer tires and dunlop both worn out not over 10k.I dont drive much prolly just once aweek.First I thought maybe need adjustment or some bad rear bushing.I checked everything they all good. Its always inside edge and the middle section of each rear tires worn down to the belt.

Any thoughts?

4.8i is a very heavy SUV. It eats brakes and tires. I put cheaper Achilles Desert Hawk 315 tires in the rear. Cost me only $120 each. I can change them every year and still pay less then Contis DWS06

I am currently at around 22-24K on the DWS on the rear of my X5M and they are still doing great. I would suggest a double check on the alignment, and actually talk to the tech doing the work, see if they have any suggestions to help that inner wear.

The summer tires are a good bit softer than the all-seasons, but 50k miles seems like a REAL stretch to me.
The tread ware rating is good for that, but not on our X5s.

I just installed the DWS 06s (again) on my winter 20" setup for my 08 4.8 also, got 27k out of the last set.
Had the previous generation also and these are even better, they really are a GREAT tire!

Not much can be done on the inside edges due to the negative camber (it's a good thing, you want to have it).
We also can't switch the DWS 06s side for side, since they are directional, but if they are wearing in the middle (cupping) the tire pressure may actually be too high for the specific tires/wheels.
You might want to look at lowering your tire pressure a bit too... You don't have to run what BMW states on the door sticker

I personally like to run 28PSI front and 30PSI rear.

Tire pressure can make a HUGE difference in the wear of the tires, comfort in the ride and the handling...

Try the lower pressures (be sure to reset your TPMS) and see what you think.

good tires, I don't see any issues them lasting at least 50k but it will depend on your driving...

Low pressures will increase the wear on the edges.
I prefer to run 32 PSI all around.

Personally, if you are getting that bad of wear, I would try and go as low of negative camber as possible, maybe even less than spec. For some reason I see 4.8s rolling around with more negative camber than the M, so that may make a difference.
Toe can be a big deal as well for inner wear, so make sure it's in spec.

I've also had issues with dw and middle wear also under 10k. Nothing to do with suspension, just a Shit tire. I heard dws is better.
