New to BMW and X5's
Hi guys,
I've been lurking and combing thru this forum, looking into the X5 50i as a replacement for my 04 S4 Avant because wifey wants me to have a car with an automatic trans. So my options for wagons are pretty limited, and I've always liked the X5 shape, so I figure the 50i is a pretty good choice power and performance wise. My price range is $37-42k, so I'm looking into 2013's that are CPO'd and no more than 30k miles. I definitely need the M Sport package, would like the M Perf package as well. One thing I have not found was Adaptive Drive. I've read some posts about how awesome it is, but I think I might be waiting forever for one to show up on CPO. Also, I believe that I should also be looking at extended warranty's on these, but I think that I read that Route66 no longer covers X5's?? Any other recommendations? I've never gotten an aftermarket warranty before. Can I wait till the end of the CPO warranty and then add it? Another question I had was regarding the infotainment system. Reading the old brochure, is sounds like it was more geared to Apple and IOS devices. I'm an android user, at the moment I've got a Galaxy S7. Will I be missing out on a lot of the media/connectivity features? Thanks guys! |

I had adaptive on my 08 4.8i sport. It was awesome. Big swoopy freeway ramps you can really smash. It corners like a sports car. I couldnt find a suitable 50i msport with adaptive and/or performance package when I wanted to dump my rapidly declining 08. I def miss it but really its not necessary unless you have plenty of time to wait. They are like unicorns, bro. I really wish I could have gotten the perf pkg but the only 1 in the area had white interior and that was a no go. Im happy to have the added turbo power and VASTLY superior tranny in my 13. I can deal without adaptive but 40 more hp would be PERFECT.
YES, get a warranty. Do not hesitate. These things can bleed you dry. |

Argh, You sure you can't raise the miles to 50k? CPO X5Ms can be had for $34-40k in that range.
