From that thread, OP mentions removing the CDV results in a smoother 1 -> 2 shift. Mechanically, how does this worK? If my interpretation of the CDV is correct, all it does it limit the rate at which the fluid can travel upon reengagement (letting out the clutch). So, if I'm letting out the clutch slowly for a 1 -> 2 shift, would I notice any difference?
I find 1 -> 2 shifts still very awkward at times (even after a year of driving my M2), but IMO it's more due to how slow the revs drop (controlled by the ECU). |
