Black X6 xDrive 35i spotted at local Mickey D's
I live in the Upstate area of SC,home to BMW Manufacturing.Spotted this X6 parked outside of a local McDonald's tonight.First Black X6 I've seen in person or in any pics.Beautiful automobile!! Got out and walked around the car.Looked to be a finished production vehicle.Interior appeared to be black or dark grey.Car had BMW manufacturer tag,I'm sure it was an employee's take home tester. The back seat had two child seats installed.Car had no camo at all.All badging and BMW logo's were clearly visible.First X6 I've seen in the Upstate area w/o any camo. The car visually appears smaller than it really is.I'm about 5'10'' and the top of the rear hatch was located at about the middle of my chest. I snapped a few pic's.I'll keep my eyes peeled for any X6's that might come my way. Thanks

either your camera or photography skills, sucks
however, it s a nice and interesting catch... I didn't knew that BMW allowed its employees to use the car before it is officially out...

Sorry, not sure what's up w/ my camera.BMW employee's at a certain level(Mgr level and test engineers) can bring new pre launch cars home. They must keep a logbook on any problems they encounter. They also must have completed a driving course at the BMW Performance Center. One of my neighbors who works at the plant wanted to bring an X6 home. However,he said the wait list was to long for the driving school, given the popularity of the X6 with employees. The reason for the driving school requirement is that the pre launch/release X6 is still considered a "prototype" and demands a little higher level of care when driven on public streets.Thanks.Palbay

While taking re-delivery of my car at the Performance Center there was a maroon colored X6 on a different track for a good portion of the day. I guess employees were testing it out. I LOVE the look of it, and while a twin turbo V8 excites me, I think I'd rather have the economy and torque of a diesel. Maybe by 2010 they'll offer an X6d!
