Get a new wheel. Tried that once on a former BMW and it just wasn't right, eventually re-failing. eBay or Tischer.

Thank you! Did you have some problem after that? Did you have vibration or something wrong when you rode with the repaired wheel?

If properly done, it would be welded, ground down, straightened and then balanced. I see no problem repairing a cracked wheel when going to a solid and reputable shop

Having worked in the wheel business for several years my experience is that repairing cracks can be done however there is a chance that a crack will could reappear in the repaired area due to the weaked structure. The best option is wheel replacement however it's often the most expensive. If that's not an option my best advice echoes what others have said and take it to a reputable repair shop to ensure proper repair.

If that repair was there before, there's no bother in repairing. As I mentioned above, repairs inevitably weaken the wheel structure and that's a perfect example to reinforce the importance of replacement.

If the crack was next to the weld bead in the heat affected zone, definitely time for a replacement. |
