E70 Wiper fluid leak - advice on fixing? (Not replacing)
Hi, I've done some amount of searching and most of the googling resulted in replacing the pump/reservoir. My car is 80k mile old and x5 30i 2009 version.
However, my pumps seem to be working fine (I have headlight wash, windshield wash, and rear wash) as all of them spray the fluid without a problem. I haven't opened up my car yet, bc I don't have time until next weekend. However, from my minimal testing, the leak is slow. When I poured more liquid, it didn't leak right away and it never emptied the liquid all the way. I'm assuming that there is a crack or rubber sealing somewhere inside is getting old. Has anyone able to FIX the issue instead of purchasing new pump/reservoir? Thanks! |

It would behoove you to try to locate the leak first, before making your decision. If it's as simple as an o-ring, a cracked hose, a cracked reservoir (glue/sealant), or something else... There are probably 20 points of failure with different "fixes."
