Updated GPS Maps
I remember seeing a forum member's name to reach out to but can't find the thread despite searching. Can someone point me in the right direction? I need to get my GPS maps updated.

Anyone know the latest filename for the latest maps - the name that the Nav displays?

I contacted one of the recommended people on the list and purchased the maps last night. I am going to attempt the update tomorrow. I don't quite follow the instructions exactly but am hopeful I can get through it without issue.

I used one of those listed in the past but I was a little bummed that 90-days later there was a map update so I would need to buy a new code. If I was going to have to buy another code, I decided to spend my money elsewhere. Rather than spending $50 I spent $33.50. While I saved $16.50 I actually saved more as I received a lifetime code rather than single use. So when 2016-1 arrives, I just install the maps, no need for another code.

It's ridiculous the dealer just doesn't do this when updates come out.

Don't blame the dealer. They didn't make the maps, they don't control the timing of updates, and being on the latest and greatest maps each year is usually not needed when only about 8% of the roads change in the ENTIRE North American continent... Every 2-3yrs is a good compromise unless you frequent heavily developed areas of new housing or roadways. |

So I spent an extra $23.50, but had far less work to do. I paid and had the code within 10 minutes. I never have to get another code again for this vehicle.

Can anyone with the latest updates scoot the map over to the Baltimore area and show me if the new toll roads on I95 are shown. The location is here - between the two arrows: http://screencast.com/t/lG3SOWoK
Thanks.

IIRC, MD was doing construction on that part of 95 to expand it or reroute it. I think he was looking to see if they updated the maps for that new road. A few years ago when I drove by the area for the first time, the maps gave me incorrect directions because the roads had changed. Now when I drive back there I just ignore the directions.
