Starter issues
My M has sometimes ( maybe 4times in last 6 weeks) kept the starter going on cold start ups for .5 second too long making for a awlful noise. Is this an indication of a starter ready to go. I wanna put my down pipes in but I'm worried about this issue

There's another thread on this form whereby several other owners (including myself) have experienced this. I don't recall anyone offering an explanation. I keep a sticky on my start button to remind me to record on my phone when starting to try to catch it, since it never replicates when in for service at the dealer.

Finally was able to get the starter noise to reproduce at the dealer, they ordered a new starter but are back ordered out of Germany... The New England cold helped
