OP I have run DINAN, ESS and now currently VELOS.
They all have their benefits and improvements on the M model for the X series. From mild to wild this is my ranking: 1) Dinan 2) ESS 3) VELOS ESS and VELOS in my opinion provide the biggest response in the mid range. Velos seems pull alot harder than the ESS and DINAN tunes above 4k RPM. When I switched from ESS to VELOS it was merely I just wanted to see if the numbers provided are valid and I wanted something a bit more aggressive. Please note, I have not dynoed the car so I am only going off my butt and feel of the vehicle. Personally, that is all I care about. I love DINAN and ESS. My E90 M3 is ESS SC and all Dinan drivetrain, suspension, interior, etc. I have been wry happy with Omar and Velos. Just got a goodie in thesis today from OMAR!!! See pic attached!!! |

Had Dinan software on E46M3 (stage 3), E90M3 (stage 2) but went with Veolos on X5M due to it's cost and I don't see much different between software (mostly very similar gain). Also heard great thing about the Velos customer service after I was PM-ing the S**T out of Velos owners in the forum.
Had it for 7 months. Great service. Help me to solve issue after dealer visit etc. I'm very happy with their tune and the top notch customer service.

Can anyone comment as to why the BMS Stage 1 tune is so inexpensive compared to the Velos? For a 50i they claim to both produce the same increases, yet one is $1000 cheaper.

Terry's interaction with the community is second to none: www.n54tech.com Honest down to earth vendor with a huge following, proven results - the JB4 holds most if not all of the N54/N55 records and in my opinion, the tunes basically sell themselves. He has an M5 testbed running a beta right now so you should be seeing something for the S63 very soon: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23156

If you can't do hood up to hood down in under 10 minutes, you need help - with life in general

Last I heard the BMS tune for the X5M had "issues" and provided next to no gains. I also heard he decided not to continue with the development and he no longer offers it.

Stage 2 for the N63/S63 is out in beta now with the TU variants coming not far behind. I know three or four folks running it on various FB groups and it looks solid.

Notice X5M isn't listed under the applications Do you have the Burger box on an X5/6M? I don't know one X5/6M running it, the one guy I talked to that had one said it had issues and Terry refunded him because he had no interest in further development. Further evidence at the top of the page he has the note "Fits MOST N63/S63 engines"

He has S63 and S63TU Stage 1 listed. What's in the X5M? Non-TU? Is there something different about the S63 in the X5M? Dunno.
