Dinan Tune
Does anyone here have any past experience with Dinan. I see that they just released their tune for the 50i. I paid extra for a 100,000 mile warranty and I don't want to have any issues with that. Dinan will only cover up to the 50,000 miles. Does anyone already have this tune?? 100HP and 100 lb torque jump sounds great.
Can the tune cause any negative issues with the car like a check engine light or any thing else? Any response would be appreciated, Thanks |

No issues. And especially if you are going through Dinan. I had Powerchip.com tune my X6M. I am proud to say that the car runs good. The torque went from 501 at the crank to 580 at the wheels. I also have full exhaust. The HP went from 555 at the crank which is about 420 to the wheels stock to 470whp now. I broke the left rear half shaft about a month ago because I am making so much torque now, took it in to the dealership and they knew nothing of my tune. Unfortanitly they voided my warranty anyway due to my custom exhaust. I strongly encourage the tune though especially Dinans. Good luck

I have been tuning my 5 series over the past 6 years with DInan and they are great when it comes to backing their product. I have the latest upgrade on my 535i twin turbo and has been working fine for the last 3 years...no issues. I would not hesistate to use them again and I would use only them as I would not like to be without any warranty whatsoever...gotta balance your WANTS

Tune done today.
One word for this...Wow. I was afraid it wouldn't be worth the money, but it was well worth it. It is just ready to take off and doesn't care what gear its in. The torque is phenomenal. A few months ago I turned off my traction control and cut the wheel in the rain and it didn't want to kick out. It kicked out on me making a slight turn. My DTC lights were going on from second to third gear. One other thing I noticed on the heads up display it used to accelerate in 4-5 mph increments. Now it is going up in 6-7 mph increments.
If anyone was on the fence about making this move, you shouldn't be. Last edited by JIMX681; 01-22-2011 at 07:46 AM.. |

I had a Dinan tune in an e39 5 series. I got better mileage and more performance, too.
I would think that since the Dinan BMW WON the Rolex 24 a few days ago, that BMWNA would recognize that "DINAN" as painted on the left front bumper of the winning car validates BMW's decision to use this manufacturer's parts to their own benefit, so why the double standard? Simply put: Consumers usually will not maintain a car to more than what is freely done; this isn't good for a dealer that wants to sell each car an average of 3 times. I always changed my oil (Mobil 1) at 3750 miles and added an exhaust and oil cooler to aid my car's cooling ability. I also saw NO codes thrown in 40K miles. Pure BS is how I would describe BMWNA's warranty-voiding antics as regards Dinan products. Maybe BMWNA should give the trophy back to Rolex and insist that their car was modded by Dinan and therefore the (win) trophy must be voided based on integrity and consistency with their SOP and Corporate Policy? I just do not see that happening! Congratulations on winning the 2011 Rolex 24, BMW-DINAN! Last edited by mfenn; 02-03-2011 at 02:31 AM.. Reason: Corporate spelled wrong. |
