Style 214 vs X5M vs 229 wheels
I'm gonna get new wheels and think I've narrowed it down to a few types.
Whats everyone's opinion? I'd pretty sure I want to powder coat either gunmetal or graphite. I have an 07 X5 Space Gray Style 214 Style 227 X5M |

For the regular X5 I would go with first choice, for the X5M of course with the third one. I ran two sets of 214s one for summer the other one for winter.

My understanding is that the X5M wheels have a different bore size for the rears, so it won't fit directly to a regular X5.
But to answer your question, X5M wheels. |

Personally I went with the 299's.

Of those, the 214s still look the best, IMO, and they look good on space gray. I had them on my 4.8 and the look never got old to me.
I don't care for the X5M wheels...I had them on my M and never liked them...if you get those, at least powder coat them black. I think the X6M wheels look much better. The 435s aren't bad, either, but a bit too busy. My favorites stock wheels, and I'm biased, are the 333 wheels that are the 20" option on the M-sport. I have those now and I think they look great. There are some great aftermarket choices also.

Good point Tahoe, why not go aftermarket? Fall in love with the perfect set...

299s
HOiYA: Nice setup with your 299s and helpful pic!
May I ask how you installed your rear set? I've heard that the rear 299s do not fit onto any non-M setup; although the front fit just fine - not sure what advice you have from experience? |

I'd go with 214's, but that's my opinion.
I've been looking for a set for mines too. |
