DTC Warning after change tire
I have change my tire on my x6 3.5. Now the DTC kick in and cut power every time i hit the throttle a bit harder. I got 315 35 20 on the rear and 275 40 20 on the front. I had to order Michelin latitude diamaris for the front and Michelin latitude tour hp for the rear because they didnt have the tour hp in the size 275 40 20.
Could it really cause problem becase the tire is not the exact brand of michelin? Anyone else got problem with DTC after tire change? |

There a couple of things i may assume based on your post
1. Diameter is a bit off, despite the per-spec tires Sometimes different brand or type of tire within brand could have difference in diameter even though the spec of the tires are the same 2. Different level of grip between rear and front tires that confuses ECU |

Today i took it to the dealer of the tire to switch back to my all seson tire to see if that solved the DTC problem. But before we did change the tire i told them to check the pressure in all four wheels. Well the left rear tire had higher pressure than the right rear tire and both of the front tire had lower pressure than the rear...
So we did set the same pressure on all four and that made o lot! The DTC only kicked in once when i did drive real hard. Well i did lower the pressure in the rear tire and i think the problem is solved... So what have i learned from this... Well, you must be carefully with the pressure Last edited by Danielthatsme; 05-25-2012 at 07:33 AM.. |
