2009 3.0*Mods Coming
I've been a member for a years with some of my 3 series went with Mercedes for 2 years, and back with my first X5. Got the X5 in April, so mods have been a slow process. So far I've done the following:
In the next week as parts arrive I'm going to have the rest of the body trim and bumpers painted white, ordered new blacked out kidneys (no more chrome), wheel arch extensions (painted), and magnaflow quad exhaust tips. I've been browsing for a few weeks for some new ideas Pics to come, and rims will be coming in March. Last edited by BDougl01; 12-06-2009 at 12:01 AM.. Reason: Picture Re-size |

Im going to check out re adjusting the left side the ones on the right look fine..Im having the doors done, and trying to decide about the front air ducts for next week. I think I am going to have to put 20mm spacers until I get rims in the spring the wheel arch extensions the back wheels just sit in too far...

that looks good. i wanted to paint my bumpers too but from experience, the bumper material is not the best to paint on. they will chip.

Some new pics today..removed the badges on the doors..doors\airducts will be painted this week, and gotta order spacers..
Thoughts?? 1.) Should I go with 20 or 25mm HR rear spacers? It's only temporary I plan on getting either 22" Vellanos VRI 285 tires with ET40 or 20" 214 Style Powdercoated Black (Most likely will be the 20's with the city driving I do) 2. I was trying to play around with photoshop, but I cant decided if a) paint everything black in the air duct and the bar inside b)paint the entire thing black and the bar white c) just paint the bar inside black and leave it white as it is now

Tonight I painted the lines black just go get an idea how'd they look in a matte finish. I think after painting them I want the rest of the air duct to be painted black, so it even's out with the center piece. I am going to have the final results done at a body shop. I have attached some pics from my blackberry.
I am also trying to decide if I should paint the whole thing matte black or do a regular black that will have a gloss finish. Everything in the front is all matte black (kidneys, grill, etc). Any thoughts? I guess it will matter if I get a matte or gloss finish black wheel... Next few mods are going to be... -Shorter and Fatter quad exhaust tips painted black -Black X5 rear emblem -20" Black Style 214 Rims (Matte or Gloss)

I know i may be a bit late @BGReddy00, but i love your x5. i recently got the 2009 alpine white X5 and want to do similar MODs. How are the painted bumpers holding up after a few years and would you recommend me painting my bumpers white or finding an aftermarket kit?
