Premium audio 677
I recently bought an '04 X5 4.4i with the Premium Pkg (ZPP), Sport Pkg (ZSP), and Premium Sound (677). I've searched the threads, but can find nothing definitive about the specs or manufacturer of the sound system. Anybody out there with info on the system? BTW, it's the non-DSP unit that says "BMW Business CD".

X5 Audio
I've got to say I'm pretty disappointed in this forum. Others I belong to seem to be much more responsive to questions from first time owners like myself.
I posted a straightforward question about the audio system in my X5, that I thought would be easy to answer, but haven't gotten a single response. To refine the question, I'd like to know if the base system is non-DSP and the "Premium" system is always DSP. Is that the only distinction between the two? BTW, I disabled the disc changer and installed a USA SPEC iPod interface that works like a charm. It even displays artist and song name on the OBC portion of the instrument panel. Not to be rude or anything, but you're a little out of date here. That's why you have no response. This forum is here to supplement those with the E70 model.
Also, that chrome B pillar makes your ride look extremely ghetto. Gross. |

E53 vs E70
Sorry, I missed the part where this was for E70 drivers. Thought it was for the X5 in general.
Don't care for the chrome, either, but it was on there when I bought it and I've been a little reluctant to try to peel it off. |
