Goodbye X3, Hello X5!!!
They say time works everything out, and after nearly 4 months of waiting on an X3 my wife finally told me she preferred the X5 all along...which made me happy too. So, we are going to order a X5 35d, alpine white with the cinnamon brown/black interior. I see a few folks on here with that interior already, but would appreciate more pics. Also, what wood trim would you suggest? This will be our fist BMW and first diesel...tips, advice? We are pretty excited, I'm about to deploy so this will be big gift to each other...ready for pickup when I get back.

I just ordered the same interior combo but with black saphire. It was black or white, and I just had to do black. Hard decision though...

My wife is a huge fan of white vehicles, and I must admit, that a white Bimmer looks awesome. Black is great too, but with us eying to live in South Texas we figured to go with something that would be a bit easier given the heat. So did you go with the darker bamboo trim? That is what we are leaning towards. When do you plan to take delivery of your X5D?

I have black with cinnamon and it is great. I'll try to take a few pics tomorrow for you. It is very unique, almost the color of a basketball or football. Mine is also a 35d, you'll love the torq!

Good stuff, I will be stateside next week for some vacation. I plan on visiting a dealer and looking at a few color combos in person and taking a few test drives. But I am pretty sure we will go with the dark bamboo as well.

Here's some pics of my 2012 M Sport. The pics make it look a little more red than what it is in person, but its a great color combo. If you do a black exterior, it'll make the seats look even more red than brown.

I thought the diesel would be better than that, I just did 400 miles cape may to Boston (since I had to exacuate due to hurricane Irene) and got 25.5 with my 35i running 75+ most of the way, would expect more like 30 out of the d!

ClearBra applies modern technology to the concept of the vinyl car bra of the 1980’s — only without the bulky removable vinyl bra that can cause friction damage to paint. ClearBra is a custom installed, nearly invisible car bra that provides ultimate auto paint protection. Skilled ClearBra installers custom fit a razor-thin, dual-layered, clear film to vulnerable surfaces of your car, creating a repellent for the hazards of the open road — auto paint protection from rocks, bugs and debris. An investment in ClearBra auto paint protection keeps your car in mint condition — it's the Ultimate Vehicle Protection. PS I checked my build this morning and it said it's in the final stages! Getting excited. Wish my Audi would sell so I don't have to eat it on a trade though. Last edited by Vastyle; 08-29-2011 at 12:45 PM.. |

This is the Audi I'm trying to sell 06 A4 2.0T
I Paid $800 for the clearbra install on the Audi. I also paid $600 for the clearbra on my wife's 11' 4 Runner. I really wanted the new Audi A6 avant with the 3.0T. I actually waited a year for it to come out only to find that AOA isn't bringing it to the states. I've never been a big BMW fan, but one test drive in a new X5 and I was just about sold. I looked at the Toureg TDI, but if your spending that much $$, why not spend a little more and have the BMW in the driveway. Plus I get the eco credit and I get to claim the entire purchase price on my taxes too. I liked that the X5 performed like a heavy sports sedan and it wasn't as big as the Q7. I really wanted the gasoline X, but with a JBD and all that torque I'm sure I will be all smiles. |
