an important question regarding the twinTurbos
guyz... i live in dubai..
and as u know .. dubai is located between the deserts .. and our weather is so dusty does it affect the turbos negatively.. in other words ... is it bad when the turbos breathe the sands (dust) another question... are there filters that are used to clean the air which is going through the turbos? (for protection) thanks very much... i know there are many ppl live in places such as mine..(dusty weather) so .. thanks |

The intake filters on your engine should be good enough to filter all the dust before it gets into your turbos. Just make sure you change the filters on each maintenance check. Unless you drive IN the desert, you don't need to take any more precautions. If you do drive on sand a lot, then change the filters more frequently.. I'd also get the X6 washed often and get the intercooler sprayed with pressurized water each time since it will be expose to sand more than the filters.

"Wash" with air.
If water is too precious to wash ur car w/ in the desert, & the dust does not adhere to the paint try getting air compressor like what a carpenter would use to drive handtools & get an air nozzle to blast the dust & sand off.
