Need Help on SUV
Hi guys, its snowing in NY . Anyway, I currently drive a 2005 Range Rover HSE, its almost 50k MILES and I'm looking to buy a new SUV within these 2 weeks. My choices are either Range Rover HSE again, possible Range Rover sport Supercharged or X5 4.8 . I see some really good deals for a brand new Range Rover HSE with 0 money down , etc. However I hate buying a car than a whole new model comes out.. for range rover HSE its still the same body since my 05, anyone know when they will come out with a new model(both the rangerover / rangerover sport)? ( i know for bmw , merc its every 7 years for a whole new remodel). And for the X5, New model wont be out til im 2013 rite?? I plan to drive these cars for at least 3-4 years so I'm hoping either one of the SUV's I get a whole new remodel wont come out within 3-4 years. Thats my main concern. Second I know Range Rovers are great in the snow and ultra luxury ( I'm not really looking for handling or sports feeling) , How luxury are the X5's?? Is it quite and comfy?? Thanks !

Why do you care that the car you buy should not come up with a new model within 3-4 years? If the car you are looking at fits your need, go do it. Actually, buying a model in its last year means that all the bugs have been fixed and you should have a reliable car.
As for the X5, I have a 2007 4.8i and it's just a fantastic car to drive. Solid in the snow, fun to drive. It likes gasoline a lot however. The ride is quiet and it is fairly comfortable. The finish is very good but if you are looking for extreme luxury this may not be your car, look for a Lexus. Good luck. |

I did not consider any other SUVs. I went for the X5 from my 330xi.

I actually had the same dilemma... but i had a Merc E AMG... now, the reason i bought the X5 4.8i 2008 is because quality ratings compared to the RRS... and also b/c of the following
X5 4.8i 6.3 secs 1-60 RRS Supercharged 7.3 secs RRS non supercharged 8.4secs |

If you are going to get 10-12MPG, you might as well go with the faster one.

As a fellow M3 Poster I can tell you that I have an X5 4.8i and the car is brilliant. I cannot fault it. You really should go and test drive it.
