Best e70 n55 tune 2021
Hey all, I’m looking to give my n55 on the e70 some more power.
I can’t find any new info so I’m making a new thread. I’m looking at the jb4. I like the jb4 options, safety limp mode and ability to clear codes and change maps using the steering wheel. What about mhd? Is there OTS maps for a stock engine? E85 flash? It is stock right now. In the future I plan on getting these- Air intake Charge pipe Intercooler and Dow pipe. Was thinking of getting a cheap mhd flash for the mean time until I get the jb4 Any input? Thanks.

Dude, there are so many threads on N55 tuning it's not even funny...
Flash the ECU through OBD, contact TTFS or get BM3 and use OTS maps. JB4 is garbage and obsolete, find countless threads on issues people have with it, plus worse performance gains.

Are they the same for e70? Do the companies make the tunes for e70 too? From what I’ve read, Up until a while ago, they didn’t.
That’s why I asked. I got the mhd stage 1 flash. I am not at all impressed. I know the car is stock but even the jb4 on my stock E90 felt better than this! And I never had issues with the jb4 I’m going to get the jb4. Feels faster when the car is stock, the safety nets and wheel controls. |

And a 5k lb suv will never feel the same as 3k lb sedan even with the same tune. That’s just simple physics. If you want to go to jb4, go right ahead. If I understand that system correctly, it modifies the signals incoming and leaving the dme so the dme has no idea what the engine is actually doing. With what the flash tunes are capable of, I see no reason for this type of setup. I want the dme directly in charge of timing, boost levels, etc... and nothing in the middle trying to alter that signal. |

I actually have the JB4 on my 2013 X5 35i and the Bluetooth module for it as well(Recommended) and it works amazingly. I run Map 2 on 93 oct. With nothing more than an AFE cold air intake. The additional boost makes the truck very drivable compared to stock and I would venture to say it's the best purchase I've made for my x5... Absolutely luv it!!

I’m sure it does. I don’t like the way jb4 works within the system but no denying it works well.
The problem is OP is trying to compare 2 different tunes, possibly even tune levels as well, to 2 different cars with drastically different weights with probably 2 different engines (assuming n54 on the e90) and is wondering why one car feels slower. It’s not an apples to apples comparison. |
