S63 Pure Turbos Stage 2
Was looking online for turbo blankets and noticed that Pure dropped a stage 2 upgrade for the S63. I thought they only had the Stage 1, not sure when this came out. It's money, but good news for some folks with cash looking to push.

No thread yet. It's @m5james who is doing the build. I think he's getting the stage 2 treatment on a set of s63tu turbos off of an m5(?). Not sure what the difference is between the s63 turbos and s63tu turbos is, but I know the f series m5s are putting down 820whp with pure stage 2 s63tu turbos, JB4, a lot of tuning, SSP Spec R clutch and meth injection.
The real question is how much power our transimssions can handle. As of now that's uncharted waters and James is the first and only person to start pushing the limits with this stage 2 setup. Should be interesting to follow... I'm sure he'll chime in eventually. |

Yeah I was talking to him about fitting our S63 turbos on the TU headers. Apparently our turbos can be bored to fit the TU headers, but the headache and risk factor doesn't seem very worth it. Definitely worth getting the TU turbos to mate with the TU headers.

Supersprint makes custom turbo manifolds for our stock turbos...only $6300. Makes more sense to find used M5 stuff like you said. Do the downpipes match up though? Most wrecked M5s I've seen are sold at auction and not necessarily parted. Usually it's just the whole engine if you find them. Probably more to come with time. I imagine that by the time I can afford all those upgrades I might as well buy a newer M.

The S63 is not as reliable as the TU and then you add the cost factor to do the work...after that it's just not worth it to me. Soon enough the F85 will be within reach the way those things are depreciating...just like ours are. I do applaud M5James for pioneering this thing. It's not an easy feat. |

But then again Supersprint is known for their quality parts and their price reflects that. If you look on ebay you can sometimes find s63tu turbos. There was a set of brand new pure stage 2 TU turbos listed on ebay about a month ago for around $6k I believe. But then you'd have buy the manifold as well which is another 6k... I'm having a valve job done on my car right now and was just curious how much an entire used s63tu engine costed. My mechanic looked it up for me and there were a few listed for around 15k with low miles. For the price of the stage 2 TU turbos +manifold upgrade you could almost buy the whole damn engine! Either way I can't wait to see the numbers it puts down its going to be dumb fast |
