Sucks to hear the paddles don't work, hopefully you get those figured out.
I want to do this mod also, and I wanted to ask you if your previous steering wheel had the heated steering wheel option? I don't have the heated steering wheel option right now and I just wanted to check. Thanks Quote:

just bought the x5m steering wheel on eBay...gonna try this too...crossing my fingers..maybe there is a slight diff btw 2012 and 2011....if not, the thicker wheel will be the benefit i guess....
Singh, does the "m" button still work as the recirc air button?

The M button just works as a regular mode button. it toggles between audio mode like Aux, CD, Radio FM etc.

Hmmm. I just read it. They don't seem to have a solution yet. Okee did tried to do some coding' to see if mine would work, but we drew a blank.

First of All..Merry Xmas!
from what i gather from that thread is that the m-sport and the //M steering wheel paddles are different. the M-sport has resistance based paddles and the //M has open and then close/short paddles (unless that is the same thing). Maybe the //M wheel would work on your car?

Worth a try. I'll wait and see if the M works on yours. I suppose I could always sell the one I have and get the M.

the biggest issue with our cars is probably that it is diesel and its the 6-speed not the 8-speed tranny.....

I would LOVE to have the F15 M steering wheel. It makes our E70 steering wheel look like it's from the 80s. Even the feel & materials are completely different.

Hey Kaklika, did Okee try changing VO values? I have no access to coding presently....I found this while browsing the e90 forums:
paddle type in EGS wert_00 means switch based with steptronic from what I have gathered this is for pre facelift wert_01 means resistance based without steptronic this must be for standard auto no step wert_02 means resistance based with steptronic and this is setting for LCI cars if fitting wheel to pre face lift add $2XA to the VO and wert_00. if fitting LCI wheel to LCI car add $7XA and set EGS to wert_02

Good thing I found this before buying the wheel... I too would really like to add the flappers to a 2009 35d.
I really hope it just comes down to coding. The one thing I'd ask is whethythe type of paddle makes a difference: I know there's am older kind where you pull and push either left or right to upshift or downshift, while the other newer has one to upshift and one to downshift. |
