No extra pins that came to my notice. Two connectors from wheel harness just clicks into 2 connector jacks on the X5.
Just like that and direct snap. Hope that helps.

Did the paddle shifters come with the steering wheel, or were they separate?
I have an M Sport, so I already have the steering wheel but would be nice to add the paddle shifters.

They came along with the wheel. i guess all X5M wheels do come with DCT pedals.
And talking about that I thought 50i M-sport comes with pedals like X6

Thanks - I just sent an email to Tischer asking about this, so we'll see what they say.

Do you think they will work on a 2011 Diesel? (I don't think so..)

I have a 2011 X5 D with the Sports Activity Package and Adaptive drive. From what I read online if you have these packages then it comes pre-wired for the paddle shifters
I am trying to find a steering wheel with paddles and heated option. When I do, I am planning on doing this install. Will keep you all posted. This is the wheel I am thinking of getting. Need to talk to their tech support first. Maybe a group buy? I am thinking of asking for piano black trim on the wheels instead of the carbon fiber so it will match the rest of the trim. http://www.bimmian.com/AutoCarbon-Ca...for-BMW-E70-X5 Last edited by Techjunkie666; 10-28-2013 at 09:55 AM.. |

Interesting... I read on the 5 series forums that you can also add the sport button on a non sport pkg car and when the button is pressed the handling aspects is achieved. I wonder if this also works for the X5.
