'11 X5 50 Oil Pump Replacement
I recently had the oil pump replaced on my ’11 X5 50 at one of my local dealers. My vehicle had been making the worst groaning/whining/golf cart-like noise! I researched the issue and found a number of owners reporting grave horror stories about denials from their respective dealers, followed by delays of up to 2 months for resolution! I was a bit worried. However, after I scheduled my service appointment, my Tech did a great deal of homework and groundwork before I even checked in. In the end, my car was only out of commission for a few days (I had a loaner), and my Tech resolved the problem very efficiently. It appears that his method for replacing the oil pump was significantly simpler than what I saw on-line, to boot. Win-win! My Service Advisor was also very good about keeping me informed, and maintaining my level of confidence in the process.
Look, I am no big fan of dealers, and this whole "must have zee code! Must say zee number!" thing can get downright goofy. But with all of the negative reports about dealer experiences out there, I figured I would post a good experience. Oh, and the best part: since the replacement, no more annoying noise! |
